(Conversion of Eberron material to 5e mostly gathered from around the web, some of the work done by me to fill in gaps or where I couldn't find conversions I was happy with)
Morgrave University in Sharn doesn't exactly enjoy the most stellar reputation as an institution of higher learning, but it is well known for its support of the exploration and study of Xen'drik. Professor Lucian Gray, now in his fourth decade of instruction at the venerable institution, is known primarily for authoring several scholarly treatises on a wide variety of anthropological theories... almost all of which are considered the prattle of a crackpot by serious scholars everywhere.
In spite of this, Professor Gray is beloved by his students, both for his unique teaching style and for the fact that he regularly takes his favorite students on expeditions to various corners of Eberron in attempts to find evidence for his claims. The Professor pays for these trips with his own coin, and they are largely considered little more than somewhat educational vacations by the students in question.
Recently the professor announced his retirement, but not before one last expedition. He's keeping the destination a secret this time, but he promises that this one will finally ensure his legacy as a scholar of antiquities.
As a student at Morgrave, you've worked hard all semester, and you know you're one of the Professor's favorites. You're pretty sure you're going to be selected for the big expedition. The only question is what adventure lies beyond the horizon?
