Update: Looking for 2 more players!
I must, for myself examine the reasons I left the comfort of my home town to travel to Orlbar. Delegates from the North came from it's furthest reaches for an important council meeting among lords, the topic of which would lead to the expansion of the southeast. Perhaps I found myself there for political interest. Perhaps for grandeur. Perhaps as a proving ground. Everything changed that day.
Ships that sail the sky descended down from the heavens. Bloodthirsty warriors who live only for war cut down countless soldiers and adventurer alike. They only had one true motivation, self preservation, a seemingly strange ideal for one who does not age or fear death. But now, as I sit here, I will meet my maker. I see now with much resolve that perhaps my reasons will not be found within myself. It is amazing to see what difference that only a few can make against so many, and in the midst of such terrible circumstances.
Gods of Men: Insurgence is a Dungeons & Dragons adventure that takes place in the githyanki city of Tu'narath in the astral plane. The city of Tu’narath is built on the body of a dead god, mainly in the corpse’s upper body, with a central district in the area corresponding to its chest and ancillary districts radiating outward along its six outstretched arms and toward its head. Despite the body’s partial destruction, the occasional tremor that echoes through its rocky mass suggests that some spark of life might still linger deep within.
Anyone who visits the city does so either at the behest of the githyanki or in Stealth. Fortunately for those who try to enter clandestinely, the place is immense enough that a small group can sneak in with relative ease.
If uninvited visitors arrive openly, they can expect a sharp reception from githyanki patrol vessels. If that’s not enough to bring them to heel, the call goes out for a squad of dragon-mounted knights.
Start your adventure as a thrall, travel through an astonishing yet bizarre foreign city on the Astral plane, choose your faction and try to escape, uncover horrible secrets that abhor even the most terrible of Gith kind and develop yourself as you learn what it means to be a god.
This adventure is designed to begin with a party of six 1st-level characters, who should advance to 9th level or higher by the adventure’s conclusion.
Hi, I'm Seb, nice to meet you. I am 30 years old. I started playing D&D over 15 years ago. I discovered D&D when my friend Chauncey introduced me to AD&D. My first character was a dual wielding berserker. This was in the early years of high school and I become instantly addicted. I would often DM for my friends and spent my weekends pouring over my D&D books while drawing maps and writing campaign story, nothing has changed since then.
I Joined roll20 at the end of 2016 when another friend of mine from school introduced me to the platform. I started running paid games in July 2016 and have evolved and developed my skills as a DM since then. I Run games of D&D 7 days a week and still want more!
I like to stick to the rules as much as possible when running published modules. I also like to practice voices for NPC's and love writing story's and building worlds in my numerous homebrew campaigns. I own every piece of published content by WoTC for D&D 5E and also many other resources such as Tome of Beasts by KFC. I devote most of my time and energy to D&D and to create the best experience possible for my players.
My discord channel is full of active players, many that have been with me for well over a year. You are welcome to join the channel and ask anyone in the group chat if you have doubts of the quality of my games.
All classes, races, class features, and spells from the Core Rulebooks, and the following books is permitted:
Homebrew content and unearthed arcana, including from websites like Middle Finger of Vecna or D&Dwiki, is not allowed. This is non-negotiable, sorry.
We will be using Roll20 OGL character sheets.
A character sheet will be provided once you have joined the game.
Ability scores are selected using point buy or standard array (15,14,13,12,10,8)
Characters will being with standard starting equipment.
Characters should be created prior to the session commencing. If needed a token will be provided to represent your character on the battle map. If you have one that you would like to use, send it to me via discord. This token will be linked to your character sheet.
Character Backstory: If there is one thing I love about a character, it's backstory! I will enjoy reading your character's backstory and tying it into the plot line of the campaign. It may not be entirely relevant to this campaign, and that's ok. Depending on how relevant it is, it may be revisited or expanded upon during the campaign. I cannot guarantee that your backstory may play a part of the campaign since we are playing a module but I shall weave it into the story as much as possible. The more you can discuss this backstory with me, the more I will include it into the campaign.
Please respect your fellow players and your DM. I would ask that everyone acts friendly towards another and gives others an equal chance to share the spotlight.
Here are some reasons why a paid game provides a much better experience.
As the DM, I reserve the right to accept, deny, or remove players from the game, as well as the right to cancel the campaign at any time. Should any of these extreme situations occur, outstanding subscription balances will be refunded in full to all effected parties. Pro-rated sessions are charged at $15 individually.
