1e Repository Campaign

Looking for a few more players to join a long-term campaign. This is a campaign set on a chain of islands, called the Korinn Archipelago. Ventris is the largest island in the archipelago, and it is where your character will start.

The date and time set above is firm, and I ask that you be conscientious toward other players and only take a slot if you will be able to attend sessions regularly. I maintain a Google community for this game where most of the between session communication will take place. You will need to be active there, to see updates from other players and myself, and to post character journals.

Any non-evil alignment is permissible, and any of the OSRIC character classes are permissible, (except Assassin), provided you roll the requisite stats. Stats will be rolled in the game chat window, 4d6d1 6 times, and arrange as desired. You are allowed up to two rerolls of stats, but you reroll all stats, and once you reroll, the previous set goes away. The third roll stands.

As for game style, I try to strike a balance between exploration, and combat. Character development happens as you interact with other players and the world around you - if you survive. This game will be very player-driven, in the sense that you will be exploring the world around you. As the DM, I will not be creating a story for you to enjoy - you will write the story! I will prepare the situation and adjudicate actions. This is not a game for passive players, if you want something to happen, you are going to have to go and explore. You are adventurers, after all!

If this style of play appeals to you, please post in the "Post here to apply" thread in the discussion below. The next step will be an introductory meeting to create a character and a background to bring you into the setting. Then, if all that goes well (we both feel that the game is a good fit for you and you for the game), you will join the game at the next available session.

For game mechanics, I am using the 2nd edition OSRIC rules (which is a clone of 1st ed. AD&D) available for free here http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/111392/OSRIC-Pocket-SRD-%28PDF%29. We use some house rules, but for the most part play "by the book."

PS - we use voice and video through Google Hangouts. A headset is not required, although I use one. Just as long as we can hear you clearly. Video is not an absolute requirement, but it's appreciated. Audio is an absolute must. Most between game discussion is through a Google Community created for the game. You will also post a character journal on the Google Community. This is important as a record of the session events for other players who may not have been able to attend the session.

Want to join this game? Make a post in the discussion forum below and let the GM know!
