Eberron - Background Driven Campaign.

Hey everyone, we currently have an open slot for this campaign set in Eberron!

SELECTION HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO THE 4TH , thus take your time reading and refreshing yourself in lore, the more your application shows me you've done your research, the higher your chances are.

A couple soft rules before you apply, just so we are on the same page:

  • We are using official content only (no UA) + Morgrave Miscellany + Exploring Eberron, we are not making use of Ravnica races, it's an entirely different setting (trying to push or argue it will be a met with a closed door).

  • This is a sandbox campaign, I don't railroad, events happen around the continent and it is up to you to take initiative and say "Hey, I've heard they've found a new chain of caverns in Mror Holds and are hiring adventurers to explore it, we should do that!" or seek out more information regarding your backstory, but then again, it's a cooperative game, respect your fellow players!

  • Being a heavy RP campaign, RP is very much incentivized, feel free to post your idea, but keep in mind I'll give preference for outgoing RPers that interact with the world around them, also I think we can agree that no one likes that guy who says and does random shit under the excuse "Hey, I'm Chaotic Neutral, my character is bored" , min-maxing and specially cookie-cutter powerbuilds are a way out tickets.

  • Having the read the Eberron: Rising from the Last War is a must, experience with Eberron in previous editions is also welcome (and will be given preference to), applications with a "I'll read it if you choose me" will NOT be considered (We can tell who did and who didn't).

  • While I'm not exclusively looking for veteran players, I do expect my players to know their rules, a fighter doesn't need to have the casting rules down to boot, but he should know how shoving/grappling/dodging work, and of course, not halt the session for 10 minutes to debate why quickened spell won't allow you to cast 2 magic missles in the same turn, since that stuff is in the rules.

  • Be a team player, stealing from party members and rushing to hog loot is a sure way to get you kicked, when in doubt, remember the N°1 rule when making a character "If you make a character that is either unable or unwilling to work within the group, your DM might reject it and ask you to make one that is." you are playing with another 4 players, their fun is just as important as yours.

  • Characters built for Eberron will be given priority, so make characters that were born and raised there, places, events, characters that were clearly made for another campaign and were just pasted here under the "She was raised in Sharn" excuse won't fly, if it feels generic, it likely won't be selected.

  • The party is at lvl 7, so feel free to elaborate on what your character did during the war, that eventually got him to that level, was he in Thora's squad for a few missions before she betrayed their handlers and formed House Tarkanan? Were you the leader of a small resistance cell in Thrane-occupied Thaliost? Did you spend most of your life climbing the ranks of the Boromar clan doing dirty jobs? Things like that. Again, the more you integrate it and show knowledge of the setting, the higher your chances are getting selected!

A bit of a long read, I know, but we're aiming for long campaign, if you're looking for a nice game with tons of RP, frequent combat (1-3 encounters per session depending on decisions) and an organic world, please apply bellow following the template!

House rules will include the variant for arcane focusi from Keith Baker (range being increased for staves and rods), and the Epic Boon for Aberrant Dragonmarked (once they reach lvl 10).

Current party composition is: a Kobold Battlesmith Artificer, a Hobgoblin Divination Wizard, a Khoravar Open Hand Monk and a Mark of Storm Khoravar Divine Soul Sorcerer so please avoid posting those to minimize overlap.

The party currently finds themselves in the Floating Towers of the Arcane Congress, about to head out in a day or two.
