Hey there, I’d planned on DMing for a Waterdeep Dragon Heist with my some tweaks published by Justin Alexander and some of my own ideas.
As it stands, Waterdeep Dragon Heist has some plot contrivances that force players into finding a single solution to a web of problems and dangles a plot-device carrot infront of their faces even when the dice turn in the players’ favor.
I’ve decided to make things a bit more dynamic while providing the players with some initial momentum and motivation to move them forward beyond mere curiosity or a quest offered by a famous celebrity.
As Players, rather than complete strangers meeting to kickoff the adventure, you’ll be an existing group sent to Waterdeep to uncover the secrets behind “Neverember’s Enigma”, and decide how to proceed with the facts you uncover. Will your party stay true to their initial employer, side with one of Waterdeep’s many factions, or go into business for themselves to steal the fruit of a deposed Open Lord’s conspiracies? Oh, and there shall be heists.
Business Time! Hey there, my name's Kyle, a DM looking to play out a somewhat-remixed Waterdeep Dragon Heist for some fun people!
After running my first few campaigns, I have a better understanding of Roll20 and its systems than I did before, but am still learning more new things each time I use it. Hopefully my map-making and other skills in regards to Roll20 will come more inline with other aspects of DMing as we play.
We'll be using Discord for voice chat during these sessions, which will run from 3 to 4 hours depending on the preference of players.
If this is the sort of game you think you'd want to explore, feel free to create an Application thread below with some details about yourself, and we can talk over character details together. In your App thread, please list your name, age, experience with the 5e system, and what your expectations are for me as a DM, and your fellow players, I think that will give a good idea of whether or not we'd all mesh well together. Should I contact you, we'll conduct an interview over Discord to give some campaign details, discuss characters, and line up the starting point to the adventure!
The start date for the first game is subject to change depending on the level of interest, more specifically postponed.
I look forward to hearing from you all!
Edit: While I do welcome relatively new players, I do ask that you have a pretty decent understanding of Roll20 and how to use your character sheet before you apply.
Next Session is on the 7th of April, interviews to be conducted before the evening of the 6th.
