The town of Lasana has thrived within the harsh desert lands of Kuzero for dozens of generations. The Ahirja Tribe, a loose confederation of family groups, settled these lands many years ago, and tamed this, the harshest and driest desert in the known world, through ingenious terrace farming, grit, and of course, magic. Those were your ancestors and this barren and beautiful land is your home.
It is summer in Lasana, the hottest time of the year, when the oasis-waters run low and the caravans and herders stay in the town's walls, for fear of death--or worse--out in the sweltering sands. It is also the Blooming Time among the Ahirja, when young adults form into small bands of adventurers and prove their worth by surviving in the burning wasteland for two weeks. Should they return at the appointed time, especially with spoils of their adventures, they are welcomed back into the town with open arms, claiming their rightful place as full citizens. Should they not return, it is assumed they died or sought shelter in the coastal towns of the west; either way, they are disowned and forgotten. Should they return early, well...best not to dwell on that.
You three are counted among this new generation and have joined up together to survive. You may be friends, lovers, even siblings--regardless, your individual journeys are now bound up together. Outside the gates waits a dangerous and difficult land where, unbeknownst to all, great and terrible things are stirring...
Hi and welcome to the Chronicles of Kuzero, a 1e Pathfinder adventure starting at 2nd level and going up to 15-20 (depending on choices made and sidequests sought). You three are young folk who grew up in Lasana--besides that, your character options are up to you, with some few exceptions, listed in the Character Creation thread.
I'm a newish DM, but I've done it before and I feel reasonably confident about finally running my own custom world. I'm looking for people who enjoy a mix of roleplay and exploration, with of course a hefty dose of combat. Please, no murderhobos or ultramunchkins.
I will not be accepting players until the listed date: I want to make sure everyone has a chance to apply!
