We are lost 1 member and I we are looking for someone to join the group. The party is third level at present and we have a hexblade, rogue, bard, eldritch knight, and warlock/sorcerer. They have just finished with the Big Bad of the first module and are cleaning up the keep of the rest of the monsters. Then they will move on to the next module.
Deep within the ruins of the keep, the magic seal crafted by the Nerath wizards continues to protect the rift, but time has begun to erode even this powerful magic. Moreover, the cult of Orcus has returned to the site, intent on finishing what its ancient brethren started. The cult seeks to reopen the rift to the Shadowfell. However, the magic seal has so far frustrated the cult’s intentions. Time, however, is on the side of the cult. Unless the cult is stopped, the seal will collapse and the passage into the Shadowfell will be opened anew. If that happens, Winterhaven will face the threat alone.
This is the begining of the Orcus, Demon Prince of Undeath series converted to 5e. We will start with Keep on the Shadowfell at level 1 and work our way through all the modules which should take the party to level 20.
TIME AND DATE
Games will always be at the same time every week and generally run for 3 hours (and up to 20 minutes more if we have to finish up a battle or something like that). Any upcoming holidays will be talked about in advance.
GENERAL RULES
You can create your own character using anything from the official WOTC books except Acquisitions (if you need help just let me know). No homebrew. No evil alignments. I base and judge alignments by this: http://easydamus.com/alignment.html
We will be using Discord for voice.
GROUP RULES
• Players will be expected to be polite to each other.
• No murder hobos!
• Show up every week.
PARTY SIZE
I prefer a party of 5 player characters. This is large enough to survive, while not taking too terribly long to finish one round of combat. I try to maintain a group of 5 dedicated players. Unfortunately, because of life, job, or school obligations, we will sometimes have players come and go from the group. This will sometimes result in a group of between 4 and 6 players. We will starting the adventure on the 13th. Need 1-2 more players to help fill out the group.
CHARACTERS AND CHARACTER CREATION
We will be using the Standard Array; 15,14,13,12,10,8. I believe that the standard array creates well rounded characters. Once your character is finished we can work together to tweek your background/backstory to make sure have plot hooks to draw your character into the adventure. No truly monstrous races ie. goblins, hobgoblins. They won't be permitted in town.
Don't be frightened off by the "pay to play" tag. The first session is free to see if it's for you. Here's the fine print required by Roll20: “This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $10 per session, payable by paypal. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements."
ME
I’ve been playing D&D for 40 years now. My adventures use high quality maps (unless the module itself has a better pic), appropriate background music in the game, some special effects, and critical hit and miss tables. I run a tough, fun game. Your characters will start out as no bodies, but if they live they will be heroes.
