Overlord, an experimental campaign using my Arch Enemy style campaign setting.
Evil rises. A darkness sweeps the land. A doom approaches. Can
heroes prevail against the threat of annihilation by this new Overlord?
Arch Enemy puts a player character at the helm of an evil epic level
antagonist bent on world domination or other evil duties that the player
wishes to accomplish.
This antagonist, no doubt, will have enemies. These enemies will test the
antagonist. Can he overcome the righteous armies that oppose him? Or
will his kingdom crumble around him like a Sauron who's fate is connected
to that of a stupid ring?
Starting Level: Level 20.
Starting gold count: One Million Gold.
Default Arch Enemy Starting content: Any core, any books that the dungeonmaster allows, the classes of Death Master and Force Missile Mage.
You may start with a personalized fortress of your choosing. Examples: Flying Castle Fortress, Foreboding Black Tower, Extraplanar realm, etc.
For the cost of three of the feats you would normally start with (The feats can be from any level); you may start with Overlord, a feat that instantly grants you an army of your choosing. Typically, this army will have 10,000 units of various levels. Armies of particularly difficult enemies, such as dragons, may be scaled down depending on circumstance. As well, you start with a level 17 Cohort. This feat stacks with leadership and other related feats.
The Arch Enemy must declare a clear goal to his dungeonmaster before the campaign begins. This goal is what the Arch Enemy wishes to accomplish with his reign of terror. (World domination, Immortality, Utter Annihilation, Opening a massive rift to a hellish plane of existence, etc.)
The Arch Enemy gets an extra feat (As if it were gained at level 20)
The Arch Enemy can start as Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil, or Chaotic Evil.
Requirements:
You must have Skype, and a mic to communicate on Skype. If you wish to
discuss doing text-only, that can be arranged.
You must make an account on Mythweavers- This is where your character
sheet will be kept.
Final Requirement: Be nice to your DM. He has played 3.5e, but never DMed
it. He is rusty on the rules. There will be more DM fiat than there should be.
