The year is 4E 5: The threat of civil war rises like a simmering but furious heat in Vvardenfell following the mysterious disappearance of Vivec, each of the Dunmeri great houses blaming the others for what is assumed to be a blasphemous deicide. Each House espouses its own Hortator, believing their own wildly divergent respective philosophies to be the path of restoration for the crumbling, decrepit state of Morrowind. As the Red Mountain rumbles with ominous portent, the Ashlander tribes prepare for the rise of their people as the weakening, headless Empire begins to withdraw its legions from Morrowind in order to defend the Cyrodiilic heartland from rebellion and unrest. Amid the chaos, meek warnings from the southern Imperial garrisons go all but unheeded by the Powers That Be in Morrowind - as a vast, Argonian tribal army prepares itself to wreak a righteous vengeance on their ancient oppressors.
My initial thoughts are to have 3 player parties, for a total of about 12-15 people - one for each of the Great Houses. After the players devise their characters I will go over the reasonings behind the conflicts, rivalries and hatreds between the different groups - discussing the frictions personally with each player to ensure they're all happy to roleplay them authentically. I will help each player devise an ultimate political agenda, assign them rivals from the other Houses and otherwise try my best to spice up the interplay between the 3 competing groups.
All of this will take place over a backdrop of the Fields of Blood strategy system, as each House (initially allied) strives to restore order in Vvardenfell and Morrowind (each House seeking to outdo the others, of course) against the dissident and chaotic forces such as monsters, Ashlanders and other lawless groups as the Empire withdraws and central authority collapses.
Leave statements of interest in the discussion area below. Include an overview of your character's backstory, personality and allegiances - do NOT create a character sheet yet, just have an abstract concept in mind. If I find your pitch interesting I will PM you and we'll take your character further.
You're far more likely to be successful with a Dunmer character. Using other races is allowed but passing will be unlikely unless you can reasonably justify why your character is in a position of authority/prestige within his or her Great House.
Co-DMs welcome. Make a statement indicating your interest.
Any questions (contemporary lore, mechanics, etcetera), don't be afraid to send me a PM.
NOTE: Each player group will have their session ran on a different day. We will not be having 12-15 people all in one session except for extremely important events.
Dungeon crawling will be present, of course.
Remaining slots:
1 Telvanni
1 Hlaalu
3 Redoran
Redorans wanted.
