Howdy, we are currently looking for a DM to take over our group, I am stepping down as a first time DM. I found myself not having enough time to keep up making a hombrewed world.

Here’s the pitch..

We take D&D and turn it into a drinking game.

Fail an ability check take a drink
Take damage take a drink
Nat 1 take a drink
Nat 20 everyone drinks!
You get the idea.

Even though it’s a drinking game I want to try to keep a semi-serious tone to the overall game. Not looking for a group of murderhobos. If you have seen any of Acquisitions Incorporated or The “C” Teams games that is the tone I will be aiming for.

I consider myself quite new to dungeons and dragons, I have been the DM for a few one shots and a very short term game. I have also played through Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat. With that being said I am looking for players with similar experience. New players are also welcome. If you are verterain with 20 years of experience this probably is not the game for you :)

Being my first large scale game I am going to try my best not to over complicate things, The world might not feel 100% real and it might get a little cliche’ at times but I will try to make the sessions as fun as they can. The game will take place in a homebrew setting. Being a big gamer myself it is going to be heavily influenced by games like Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Skyrim, ect.

A declining world still suffering from the aftermath of a war long past. The life force of the world, mana, slowly drains away through permanent scars left from the war. Drought, Flooding, Plague, Tornadoes, Earthquakes become more common each year. It is believed by some that the only way to reverse the damage done is to awaken the goddess of life who has fallen into a deep slumber. Once a decade the angels descend to pick out The Chosen, one of many individuals who train through the church who will be tasked to seal the scars and reawaken the goddess to restore mana to the world.

Over the years The Choosing has turned into a very large festival, Fireworks, Drinks, Carnival games and events, similar to our Christmas the event has become very ‘commercialized’ most people use the event as a time to have fun and take a break from their day to day life. Your journey starts on your travels to Hiborn, the town were the event takes. What brings you to the event? Are you a mercenary looking to test your strength to prove you have what it takes to become one of the guardians of the chosen? One of the highest paying jobs out there. Perhaps you are a member of the church and have been training for years to be the new chosen one. A Merchant looking to profit from the holy festival? Going to support a close friend of family member among the disciples to be chosen?

-Long term campaign
-Weekly Sunday Funday sessions
-Aiming for min 4 hours sessions
-4-5 players
-Drinks
-60/40 Combat / rollplay

What I am looking for from players:
-Legal drinking age in your country!
-Basic understanding of D&D and roll20
-Access to the player's handbook
-Non rule lawyer
-Non min-maxer
-Discord account
-A decent mic (no background noise, push to talk if needed)
-A webcam (Yes we are going to be using video through roll20)

What I am looking for in characters
-Non murder hobo
-Non evil characters
-Preferably race and class in the PHB
-No UA except revised archer
-No homebrew race or class
