Tomb of Annihilation

Overview

The talk of the streets and taverns has all been about the so-called death curse: a wasting disease afflicting everyone who’s ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied.

When they finally succumb, they can’t be raised—and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they’ve ever received that miracle in the past. Temples and scholars of divine magic are at a loss to explain a curse that has affected the entire region, and possibly the entire world.

The cause is a necromantic artifact called the Soulmonger, which is located somewhere in Chult, a mysterious peninsula far to the south, ringed with mountains and choked with rainforests.

What I expect from my players
I am a very lenient DM but I do have a few rules that I have learned helps any group last longer.

1) No OOC taking about religion/politics or any hot button topics. We are playing to get away from the real world not delve into it deeper.

2) Be friendly with one another. Golden rule. Don't be jerks. Self explanatory.

3) No means no. If someone is uncomfortable with a topic let it go and move on. No point upsetting someone over something that can be avoided.

4) 24 hours notice if you cannot attend a game. I am not a jerk when it comes to absences I just ask for some advanced notice.

5) Effort. I am a heavy RP DM and enjoy the game when everyone is immersed within the world. You don't need to be voice actor level, or a stephen king ghost writer but I do expect a bit of effort when it comes to creating characters and portraying them.

6) No rule mongering. If it can be the difference between life or death and I am uncertain I will look up a rule and make a judgement. Being aggressive about the rules is no fun for anyone. I will make all the rule judgments and if I learn I was wrong I will apologize. This usually isn't a big issue unless it is a character's life or death moment in which case I will confirm before I make any snap judgement if a rule is in question.

Want to apply?

Great! The more applications the better. I am putting this up to see the general interest level so I do not have a set start date for the campaign. I will leave an application forum below with information that I am looking for. I will also have a separate one for questions and you can also message me directly.

Where is the Party?
The party is currently on the first floor of the tomb. The parties current make up is a Druid, Cleric, Rogue, and a Paladin. They are also currently level 7.
