Harrowhelm: The Dream World

A Quote from the Narrator:
"Dreams are special things. Filtered by the mind of the dreamer, they can become many things. Prophecies, stories, warnings, even forgotten things. When playing Harrowhelm, remember to suspend your disbelief. Dreams are ruled by fickle laws that your own mind creates. Follow your instinct, but abandon waking reason. You will not need it here… "

About the DM…

Hello everyone!

My name is Grace, I am 29 years old; while I'm not pursuing modeling and art, I do this as a hobby. I have been DMing for outside roll20 for 11 years. That means I won't pull punches, fudge rolls, etc. My style is rich with story and immersion which I strive to entertain my players with. I use a mic and a camera to recreate the feeling of sitting at a table with your DM. That way, I can add voices, gestures, and expressions to enhance the overall game. Part of what makes me a successful DM is my ability to listen to my players and give them a tailored quality experience.

About the game…

You wanna have some fun? Just some crazy dream fun~ This is the perfect game for you. HOWEVER! Players beware! Beneath this silly, crazy, illogical game is a strange other half full of puzzles and even big bads. Can you solve them and discover the mysteries of the dream world as you explore the depths of the mind and all it's terrible secrets? The worst that can happen is waking up. The trick is remembering! The point is having fun and even a good laugh along the way!

Disclaimer:
This is a role play heavy puzzle game. There is combat, but even combat can be circumvented with dream logic for all you clever folk. For all you combat crazy players, this might not be the game for you. While this is more of a comedy on the surface, there are however more combat heavy situations the deeper you delve into Harrowhelm.

This Unique Experience…

Harrowhelm is unique because this special dream recurs for the players at night. You will know you are here because it will start the same way every time. Eventually you find you can travel to three places: Traverse Town, Trinket Town, Toon Town, and Tinsel Town.

Each town has a series of hidden places and unique NPCs that you can meet and mingle with. Some will guide you, others will spin you down a bizarre path. If you are lucky, you will discover new things and unlock hidden areas with the right kind of curiosity. As with all curious beings, I offer a fair warning, there are dangers in the dream world. Especially when the moon comes out…

Each session constitutes a "night of rest." The veils of the dream world and the waking world will thin as the session ends and you can think of cool ways to "fade out of your dream." However, you will be able to pick up where you left off in the next session in the dream world the "following night."
If you've had your fun and you're ready to move on to greener pastures, there should be no worries about "abandoning" your character. It's the dream world! Not everyone dreams every night.

"DLC" Includes: Test of the Grey Spire, Where The World Ends, The Man of 1000 Faces, and A Secret Garden

[You can unlock these "DLC" features once you finish the Main Quest.]

Your Character

Here's the kicker, you can make up or bring in any character from anywhere as long as they can dream. I use the D&D 5e system because it has been the system that this whole game stemmed from. If you can keep characters to a 5e format, things will go swimmingly. I do have a small requirement, like a character sheet of my own, for you to fill out and consider when submitting your character.

Name: (The character's full name.) // Class:
Gender: // Age: // Race:

Backstory: (A brief description would be welcome, but I understand if summaries can take more than a paragraph. The more you give me, the more I can use, but I cannot guarantee I will use it all.)
Three Vivid Memories: (They can be mundane or they can be something extraordinary. Some elements from these memories might pop up in the dream world for you. At the very least, they will shape your dreams.)
Three Vivid Fears: (Like all who would tread the dream world there are times when things get unsavory and we see these fears come to light in strange forms. These will also shape your nightmares.)
Childhood: (I need to know and you need to know what your character was like as a child. To many players this is something that doesn't always come to light, but for this world, it will. We will be "diving into the psyche" as it were and for those of you with a terrible secret past, that may mean seeing things come to the surface.)

Disclaimer: You will most likely begin play as a child version of your character.

Pay to Play

• Each session will be about 8$ per person, per game, for a 3 hour game.
• Extensions of the sessions by an hour, will be an extra 2$ per person.
• Pay for a month of play in advance? Your discount comes to 30$ (sans game extensions.)
• All proceeds will need to be paid before the start of each game unless paid in advance.

As the DM, I reserve the right to accept, deny, or remove players from the game, as well as the right to cancel the campaign at any time. If any of these extreme situations are to occur, the outstanding subscription balances will be refunded in full to all affected parties.

Thank you for taking the time to review this game. If you have a question about Harrowhelm, your character, or myself. Shoot me a message here or on Discord (@silOwut#6053) and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!
