Twinside

Next Game : Sunday!

LFP :

I am looking for one or two players more to play a weekly game of DD5 (mics mandatory).
Please apply only if you are sure that you can play weekly on the week-end.
We already are a party of three players and one GM.

Please post your application in a new thread, with a character sheet of your character and a few lines about him (less than 10).

Restrictions :

  • Races : Humans, Dwarves, Halflings, Goliaths, Genasis Tieflings and Aasimar (as "Spirit Children"), Minotaur
  • Possibility of some Fey bloodline (with homebrew rules I will figure out later)
  • Classes : Amongst the following : All but Wizards
  • Alignements : preferably good, neutral and LE. No NE or CE.
  • Stats : As one of the two recommended way per the player's handbook : 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 (with small adjustements if needed) or with point buy system (27 points).

The world :

Twinside is a landmass split in two by a giant and wide river called the Stelm. East and West had throughout the ages their own history as well as an intertwined history of war and cooperation, lastly seen in the second draconic war six centuries ago which utterly devastated the land and reduced the global population by more than half before humans, dwarves and various other people of a number too large to be named successfully defeated the Dragon empire and razed their capital city to ashes.

Nowadays, everyone seems to be minding their own business, warring and trading as usual, and dragons are rarely seen if ever feared, often limited to dark hideouts or worse, elite mercenary works. However as expansion and rebuilding continues, conflicts are bound to arise between the various human kingdoms, dwarves houses as well as the holy orders and the forest keepers.

The campaign :

After successfully getting rid of an cumbersome artifact, the party has no choice but to flee the town of Capartis if not the Country, for they are wanted by a rich and powerful guild.

In order to accomplish that goal as well as to go on a new adventure, they accepted a mission from Duke Firespear, a fey of great power. He wants them to go deliver a message into the Dark Forest that sprouted in the East during the war between the Druids of Verdäne and the merchant country of Taurmen.

They are currently on an escort mission to make some money and to travel east towards the forest.

Quick details about the world

  1. No elves, no orcs, no goblins, no dragonborns, etc.
  2. People worship forces of nature (as well as the Moon and the Sun) or spirits inhabiting a particular place (though none of them ever communicated with their worshipers)
  3. Healing powers and low magic are a common sight (1 out of 10 to 1 out of 50 people in a group would be able to use a cantrip).
  4. Technologically wise, no gun powder. Otherwise, Dwarves are somehow advanced from a mechanical perspective.
  5. Paladins and clerics derive their holy power from their symbol which has been specially crafted. Without the symbol they lose their power. They can also lose their faith-power as usual if they fall.
  6. For the stones part, metals and ores are quite important (and Dwarves are a big deal).
  7. For instance, Platinum hinders Dragons while Gold sustain them. Silver hinders a handful of nature creatures while Mecure will counteract this effect.
  8. Druids and some creatures are quite powerful in their sanctuary forest.
  9. The only wellspread known Arcane Casters are dragons.
  10. Undeads (very uncommon) are limited to spirits, while Fiends (rare) are born out of hatred, dispair, rage and thirst for power.
