Looking for new players! My name is Rez, I’ve been IRL dming for a hot minute, around 3 years, but I’ve finally worked up the courage to try out roll20 since ive been losing my mind in quarantine. I am running a one-shot based campaign, currently, we have 3 players (2 experienced, 1 new) in our group but we are looking for 3 or 4 more to start off. I am hoping to run it up to level 20 but we will see how it goes. I allow case by case homebrew and you can play a different character every mission to try out different builds and classes if you like.
This campaign is a lighthearted experimental LGBT friendly campaign to let loose and relieve stress during these harsh corona-times. So far the players in my campaign said they were looking for:
“living vicariously through their character as an escapist coping mechanism aka free therapy”,
“I just wanna vibe with everyone and start a revolution”,
“A campaign that’s gay and fun and everyone is in for a good time”.
“I have a special request to incorporate werewolves”
So, if you vibe with that, come apply to join our group!
The campaign is called The Whispers Reach, it has numerous mysteries, plots, and choices that you can make, but what the game focuses on is entirely up to you. Its pretty sandboxy. There is a main focus of the campaign, however, you can choose to ignore it and fix the multiple political problems, explore the surrounding lands, solve the people’s problems, and sleuth around the world for clues to what it used to be before the great calamity hit. I designed the game around shenanigans, flexibility, and replayability so I can have a unique experience every time I DM it.
First story hook: Half the world is covered in a fog called blight, rumored to be an after-effect of the great war 1000s of years ago. Every 75 years there is a festival to purify the continent, so the blight doesn’t spread. Think of it like a large diplomatic meetup, an ancient cleansing ritual ceremony, and the Olympics all rolled into one. This is called the Amaranth Meridian Festival, and everyone from rulers, to researchers, to performers, to blight conspiracy theorists flock to the 1st capital, Amaranth, to experience this once in a lifetime event. You and a small party of travelers are all on your way to this event for separate reasons. When you get there, due to unforeseen circumstances, you are all challenged with the horrible ordeal of finding affordable lodging.
