The game

I will aim for this to be a weekly session. The plan is to have the campagne run until about September time, but could go longer.
This will be a fairly open format, with a story and world that will react to your actions. I've built the world to be explorable and adaptable.
I tend to prefer a more RP focused style with less frequent combat, I'm aiming for more of a collaborative storytelling approach than "DM vs PCs," but I do intend to throw some challenging combat your way. I’ll ask now that people aim for more RP focused characters to reflect this, rather than min/maxed.
I intend for this to be beginner friendly and I’m happy to help walk players through character creation, Roll20 functionality, and the basics of 5e. If everyone is an experienced player we’ll start at lvl 3, but otherwise it’ll be lvl 1 onwards.
Small edit - Realised I didn't say. Any official content is good with me, although I will ask any Unearthed Arcarna content to be checked before using. Only thing that I have a hard stance on is no Onomancy wizards please, I find them quite lore unfriendly! Also please make sure you have Discord as this will be the main voice chat I'll be using.
This game will be LGBTQ+ friendly. If you act poorly towards me or any other players you will be kicked.

About Me

Hi there, my name is Michael (he/him) and I've been a GM for about 3 years through a couple of role playing games and I’ve spent the last year playing as a PC in 5e. Despite its flaws I still love the system. I’m 25 and I’ll be heading back off to Uni in september, hence the limited run.

Applying

Please apply in the “Applications” thread below using the format provided. I only want a brief character idea, not your whole character sheet; character refinement will happen in a one on one session before session 1. I will not be allowing homebrew as a blanket rule. There will be a bias towards UK players, this is to keep lag times low. If you feel like you’ll be unable to play once a week, please do not apply. This is for everyone's sake and to help flow (we are all human and life happens, if you miss a session or two not the end of the world). If you have any questions about anything at all, please pop them in the “Questions” thread!
