Star Wars: The Big Fat Kill

The Empire is no more, though its presence is it's still felt in the dozens of factions and splinter governments formed from it's collapse and it's largest successors being Grand Admiral and self styled Emperor Thrawn and the Moff Council. The Rebellion is now standing as the New Galactic Republic, with almost a hundred sectors flying the banner of the New Republic. It has been ten years since the Battle of Endor, and the Galaxy is finally close to reaching peace, with the three having all signed ceasefires with each other, and Emperor Thrawn himself is to arrive at the New Republic capital of Corellia in three months to negotiate and sign a peace treaty with Consular Leia Solo, officially bringing the Galactic Civil War to an end.

While thousands of worlds are getting ready for a celebration unseen since Palpatine's death, war is yet again about to brew again to the surface. In the dark and unforgiving corners of Hutt Space, a slice of the galaxy filled with crime, murder, and corruption but having known only peace and stability since the onset of the war, someone seeks a dark treasure is waiting that will undo all the heroes of the Rebellion have fought and bleed for. If this peace is too last it will be up to a group of most unlikely adventurers to save it.

It's been 14 years since the Battle of Yavin and ten since the Emperor blew up along with that second Death Star. The Rebels are no longer a motley band of rebels, intellectuals, and outcasts but an organized government filled with bureaucrats, professional soldiers, and politicians. Luke Skywalker, himself is long retired from the army, has created a new Jedi Order with the aid of Ahsoka Tano and Era Bridger. While there is well over two dozen "official" Jedi outside of the three serving the new temple on Correllia, more than a few of them have taught or been taught by Jedi before the New Order's formation and who do not recognize or serve them or the New Jedi Order for a variety of reasons. Many of them have taken up students, who then take up their own far from the eyes and reach of Skywalker and Tano. The thought and knowledge that this might cause the creation of another Palpatine has crossed their mind but currently there is nothing they can do about it. Han Solo too has retired from active duty, serving now as a flight instructor and supporting his wife's political career. Leia Solo is busier and more active than ever in the Republic's affairs, having been elected it's second ever Consular.

The Empire, for the most part, is nothing more than vultures fighting over the remains of carcass. There are exceptions however. The Moff Council, stationed on Coruscant, is an governing body of a group of far sighted and allied Moffs and Warlords who realized the actual ramifications of the Emperor's death and what it would mean for the Empire and their positions if they didn't move quickly. While they control the largest swath of the Galaxy of any political body or government, they are racked by unsuitability caused by divisive self serving politics and a weak central authority. The only thing holding them together is the knowledge open warfare and lack of any cooperation between them would destroy themselves by weakening them enough for New Republic or Thrawn's to take what little they have left. Emperor Thrawn while holding the smallest territory of the three states stands tall and strong, with the most stable and functional government, and if not happy then content populace of the three. A former Grand Admiral of the Galactic Empire, he was one of the warlords that came into being with Palpatine's death and easily the successful. Claiming to only want to stabilize the Galaxy and then going on to prove he could, he declared himself Emperor three years ago after declaring himself the most "viable and worthy candidate" but threw out the former Emperor's New Order charter bringing an end to organized discrimination against aliens like him in his territory.

With the war winding down, the three have begun to disarm or refocus their military's attention to nation building (though in the case of the Moff Council it's more like forcing the populace to comply at blaster point), Still the Galaxy is in chaos and many find their homes, loved ones, or whatever tied them down gone, along with a lot of the civilian authority that might have scared them into a more lawful lifestyle.

This brings us to you and Hutt Space. After the Battle of Endor and the dissolution of the Empire into hundreds of petty kingdoms, the Hutts saw their chance and reclaimed their independence with pretty much everyone agreeing to it to with the knowledge there was little they could do to stop them. With billions or even trillions of refugees pouring into their worlds looking for sanctuary or work, with the demand for all types of their products and services everywhere with the war going on, and no real incentive or way to stop them, Hutt Space's "criminal" empire and fortunes flourished even with the death and destruction of Jabba and other prominent Hutts' enterprises. For the past ten years anyone willing to get their hands dirty could come to here, the Mandalore Sector or to the Corporate Sector and make more than a few credits. Even with peace looming in the background, the war has destroyed so much infrastructure and with so many new governments adding so many new customers or ways to do business things are still looking good for the scum of the Galaxy.

You've been working together for awhile now and are busy with a job right now...but a contact on Nar Shaddaa says he knows a gal who knows a guy is looking for a group with your particular set of talents. And his offering a pretty juicy purse.

Star Wars: Scion in the Shadows

You can use anything from EoTE, AoR, or F&D. Players should use Obligation/Morality appropriate to their character. You might be loyal to the New Republic, but I will not allow Duty for the simple reason that you are no longer active in the military by definition and the entire vibe of this game is "ragtag bunch of misfits save the universe". This is a EoTE game mostly, so keep that in mind when making a character. I'm looking for six characters total. After writing a character's background leave a little room in for later for what you think about your co workers.
