New York, New York, Vampire The Masquerade

New York, May 2009

Almost a decade after the the Sabbat crusades of 1999 the Camarilla has begun its push back against the Sword of Caine. In the last nine years the Ivory Tower has forced the Anarchs entirely from New York forcing the birth of what some mockingly refer to as the New Anarch Free State across the Hudson River in New Jersey. Not long after Philadelphia fell after having been Sabbat territory for centuries. Prince Ladislas has returned to Buffalo to retake his princedom after being forced to abandon his demesne during the crusade. Not only has he retaken his city but has aided his childer in becoming prince of Rochester New York further strengthening the Cam throughout NY state. New England has been scourged of both the long hated Triumvirate and the Sabbat bringing the entire region under the sway of the Ivory Tower. In may of 2009 the Ivory tower struck another decisive blow by recapturing Washington DC. The Sabbat of the Northeast reel as Baltimore and Detroit gird their defenses in expectation for eventual full scale Camarilla offensive.

The architect behind these incredible gains: the ancient Lasombra Methuselah Plinius Corneilius Scipio. Embraced during the Republic’s struggles in the Punic wars it is whispered by some that he was there the day Carthage fell. For some five hundred years the Sabbat tried to hunt him down but his command over the shadows and his power at sea set him beyond their reach. The secret architect behind much of the antitribu pirate fleets he has now launched his centuries long gambit to take vengeance on the Lasombra parent clan and the Sabbat as a whole for the Anarch Revolt.

The base of his operations: New York City. There he has helped the feared Ventrue Heinrich Von Achern become Prince of the City. Von Achern is a dark ages crusader and ancient veteran of the War of Princes who fought against the Tzimisce under the command of his sire, Lord Jurgen, who was himself a child of the legendary Hardestadt the Elder. Now supported by perhaps the most powerful primogin council in North America Prince Von Achern rules New York with an iron yet judicious fist. With aid and council of his painfully beautiful paramour and Toreador primogen, the legendary Rosamond D’Islington of the Courts of Love, the Elysium of New York City has become the envy of all of North America’s Camarilla cities.

Prince Von Achern, in cooperation with the Red Rose of Islington, has begun a new cultural initiative. When the Prince first came to power the majority of the city’s populace were neonates, now there is a thriving Ancilla population that under the leadership of such august personas as Victoria Ash and Helene Panhard have redefined the city’s kindred culture. With the Sabbat having be driven far from New York’s shores and the Peace Accord reached with the Garou New York has become some of the most sought after real estate for Camarilla kindred in the world of darkness.

We humbly invite you to play the part of one of the recently arrived Ancilla to New York City. The game is played bi weekly every other Sunday from 12pm EST often going as long as 7 PM EST. The game is set in the 2nd edition utilizing 2nd ed rules and meta plot along with the revised disciplines of V20. This is very much a role playing game and we have played perhaps some two years and the current characters have never been involved in a fight. Not that there can’t be violence, that is always an ever present threat in the kindred world, but this is very much an Elysium campaign based on role playing interaction and plot building. It is not a group based game and revolves around a format that gives all the players a chance to cooperate with each other at the same time seeing to their own personal agendas.

The new player will eventually be expected to join the coterie that the other players are currently a part of the Coterie of the Vibrant Voice. The Vibrant Voice was founded with backing and permission of the prince for one purpose above all others and that is to maintain the current peace accord with the Garou of New York city. This was was proposed by the Prophet of Gehenna and approved by Prince Von Achern and the Silver Fang King Albrecht.

Given the events that have transpired in the chronicle there are several restrictions that we have to ask. Only three clans are eligible to play: Brujah, Nosferatu or Tremere. I would like players to take the part of exceptional and dangerously talented kindred between 150 to 200years undead (no older than 200 years) who have unlived for more than a century. These characters will be granted domain only because of their accomplishments and status and are expected to fend for themselves and establish their presence once they've settled into the city. So if your not an experienced role player and don't enjoy Machiavellian interaction with other players and the storyteller this game is not for you. Please don't inquire about playing any other clans or blood lines other then the clans listed as they won't be compatible with the current narrative.

So if anyone out there is interested please PM your character concept along with the perspective age of the character as well as its background. We are primarily interested in how the character has spent its last century or two. Please note that I and the current two players would like to meet the perspective player and talk just to be sure that our play style fits your taste. We also would prefer 18+ only given that a VTM campaign deals with adult content. Hope to hear from you.
