Hello and welcome investigators! My name is Cooper, a good friend of Jackson Elias and hopefully your future Keeper of Secrets. I am looking to put together a group of 4-5 steadfast, inquisitive and brave souls, for a journey across the globe to tell an epic tale of mystery and The Mythos. Your foe is beyond comprehension, they wear many masks, their agents span the world and time itself, their machinations and horrors await to be unveiled and unmasked... if you cannot stop them then the world meets an end worse than death. You will make many friends, and lose many more. This campaign is said to be one of the greatest campaigns ever written for a table top RPG game, and it's looking for a suitable group to meet it's measure.
(I did not make this epic trailer.)
To save you time I'm going to plainly spell out the campaign and what I am looking for and if you're still interested afterwards I'm sure you'll figure out the next step:
System: Pulp Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition
Campaign: Masks of Nyarlathotep
Day/Time: Sundays 12:00PM (Noon) PST / GMT -7 (If you can make the time, anyone in this world is welcome)
Duration: 1.5 years (This is a guess, but I would plan on a year.)
Frequency: 3 Weeks on, 1 Week off.
Session Length: 4 Hours
Group Size: 4-5
Tools: Discord & FoundryVTT
Camera: Requiredthat
Disclaimer: This is a horror based game set in the 1920s. What that means is expect some: body horror, gore, violence, torture and death will be present in this campaign. It is also set in the 1920s, there are some elements of racism and sexism in this setting. However, and I CANNOT stress this enough, both racism and sexism will ONLY be utilized by the Keeper in very specific scenes that call for it, and generally only hinted at.
For example, I am not comfortable using racial slurs. But there may be a moment when the local law enforcement arrests the players because they are friendly with a minority. That's part of the campaign, but I still won't be using those slurs while I roleplay as that NPC. I will hint at the bullshit reason for the arrest being racism or sexism, but I'm not going to express it super overtly because it's just not needed in a roleplaying game.
I will be asking for player triggers and topics to avoid. Having said that, it is a HORROR game in the 1920s so please keep that in mind. If literally everything about horror makes you uncomfortable and you also don't like the 1920s.... this probably isn't the game for you. Other then that, don't be an asshole and we won't have any problems. :)
I will go into more detail in the posts below, but in short:
I want players who are enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated. I need players who WANT to play this game, and play it every week. I need players who love to roleplay, who get into character, who appreciate that Call of Cthulhu is about the investigation, the build up, the slow unravel of mysteries before the action, and that the action itself is quick and brutal and scary. But I also need players who enjoy Pulp, who rack the shotgun when the time is needed and kick down the door, but are wise enough to know when to run, who enjoy playing up their archetypes and can dine with the wealthy and shoot out with the cultists. I need players who will be on Discord between sessions discussing clues, next moves, preparations, theories, etc. that they want to pursue next session. I need players who show up on time, who do their best to attend weekly, who are engaged and give me at least half of what I hope to put into this game.
Basically I need players who give a shit. In turn, I will do my very, very best to give you a campaign you will never forget. Still interested?
