The forever night has come and the Frost Maiden is pretty happy about it. Are you, oh bravest of souls, hearty enough to survive the cold, snow, strange beasts, and forgotten horrors of this frozen darkened land? Can you, along with your stout group of friends, save the Dale, if not the world?
What Are You Getting Yourself Into??
This campaign has been running for almost a year now. We started at level one with a mixed Lost Mine and Dragon of Icespire adventure. The party has come a long way in that year and are now moving away from Phandalin and into Icewind Dale to learn more about the Rime of the Frost Maiden.
All of the original players minus one are transitioning with me into this grand new adventure. I will be filling that empty slot with a player from one of my old campaigns who wanted to jump back into another one of my games. In addition to the other new player, I am expanding the party to six. All of my players agreed that it would be more fun with a sixth player in the group. We certainty hope it will be you who joins us!
The group is made up of some very fun, interesting, funny, and intelligent players. Some of them are new to D&D and some of them are old hats. They work well together and are a blast to DM.
We currently have a War (or Life?) Cleric, a Lore Bard, a Rune Knight Fighter, and a bow wielding Ranger. The other new player player is rolling a Way of the Dragon Path Monk.
You will be starting the game at 6th level along with the rest of the party.
Your DM
I started playing D&D when I was 12. This was just as D&D was transitioning from the first to the second edition. I remained in the hobby up until the end of the third edition at which point life took me in another direction. However, I always remained a fan by keeping up with the news and gossip and purchasing (but never playing with) the fourth and fifth edition core books.
Now, after many years, I have returned to the hobby. Since discovering Roll 20 I have successfully run and completed two Lost Mine of Phandelver campaigns.
FAQ
1) Multiclassing?
If you have a valid reason through role-play then sure, I'm good.
2) Acceptable races/classes?
Standard from whatever is available in the Charactermancer. I have all of the major sourcebooks so there are lots of options available.
3) Party infighting?
No. Work together or die horribly apart.
4) Allowed alignments?
LG, CG, NG, N, LN
6) I am a new player and know nothing!
This is okay. I enjoy helping new players learn the system, roll 20, and the joy or role-playing. I will walk you through every step of character creation and playing the game. I will be patient when you do not know something or make mistakes. By the end of the campaign you'll have an excellent grasp of what D&D is and how to play it. I am school teacher in real life so I enjoy this kind of stuff.
7) I'm (gender/race/sexual orientation/political party/religion.) Is this a safe place for me to play?
Yes. We are here to play D&D in a fantasy world not have a flame war over real world hot-button issues. I have no tolerance for anyone insulting or disrespecting people due to their race/gender/or sexual orientation and have, and will again, remove such players from the game.
8) Mature content? Why no 18+?
I am not a fan of excessive profanity. The occasional curse is fine but ending every sentence with an f-bomb is not. You may encounter slavery, racism, alcohol, smoking, drugs, or prostitution in the game but they will generally not be major themes of the campaign. The world is stuck in medieval times and life in it will conform to the era it finds itself in.
8) Homebrew Much?
There are a few things unique to my game: First of all, I handle unconsciousness and death in a nonstandard way. I also have a complete overall to the magic item system and have created a lot... of unique magic items. There is a unique monster harvesting system and a very unique magic item crafting system in my game as well. I also have a few additional damage types in addition to the standard ones. I have created and modified many monsters to make the game fresh and interesting. Expect the unexpected! I have created quests, vignettes, etc etc etc.
10) Does it cost money?
Each session will cost $5 which is to be paid at the start of the month. Generally there is a $20/month fee. On the odd month with five Tuesdays in it it will be $25. If you miss a session there will not be a refund, however, if I need to cancel a session I will refund you the money in the form of a discount the following month.
11) How to I apply?
Fill out the application form. I will be happy to answer any questions you have.
