The One Ring - The Darkening of Mirkwood

Four years have passed after the death of Smaug the Golden, the Freefolk of the northern lands have seen light in Middle Earth again, less fearful of the weakened creatures of Mirkwood and the now fled Necromancer of dread, these days valuing food, cheer, and song above steel and hoarding gold. Life is returning to the regions around Mirkwood, Woodmen Houses elect leaders and expend into the Valley of Andiun, Elves scout out corrupted presences and dine under the stars, the Dwarves under the rulership of Dáin Ironfoot have reclaimed Erebor and crafting new great works, and Bard the Bowman, now King Bard, rules in the new kingdom of Dale as the lands of men flourishes once more, and Wizards meddle in everyone's affairs.
Though all is not right, Mirkwood is still full of the ancient evils and Radagast the Brown still worries that a shadow will grow ever longer as the years draw on, that the Enemy could already be lingering in the darkness, but he also watches for the Spiders who spin between the trees, Orcs and Goblins gather beneath the Misty Mountains and in the valleys, and Hill-men of Gundabad whisper threats towards the Freefolk.

The Darkening of Mirkwood is a complete campaign for The One Ring, set in the Wilderlands of Middle Earth that spans over the course of decades. It tells the tale of your fellowship's epic saga, following them in a liner semi-sandbox full of adventure, as they have the opportunity to witness and make decisions to determine the safety of Mirkwood. It allows you to get involved in the affairs of the realms, rub shoulders with some of the greats of Middle Earth, such as Beorn the Skinchanger, Radagast, King Thranduil of the Woodland Realm, and others such as Fridwald of the Woodmen and Bofri, son of Bofur. Over time, gaining respect and Standing, building a home to live and travel throughout the north, carving out a corner of Middle-earth.

Part of joining this campaign is agreeing to commit to it, as it will go on for two to three real years, we are making a sort of a social contract between one another. So please gauge your interest and think about your work, personal life and schedule before even choosing to drop an application. Anyone who does have a real want to join a long-term campaign, post below in the application forum and read how to apply. If your character is acceptable then you will reserve a message to work on the finer details of your character and the setting in which they live.
