Shore of Dreams

_Buried decades ago, the great treasure of the notorious Captain Jadescale is waiting at the Mistcliff._

Though the exact location of the treasure is unknown, it’s said that the owner of the Shore of Dreams has clues about the location, although nothing is ever that straightforward when it comes to treasure.

Come join us for this single-session, east-Asian themed D&D adventure that takes place on a remote island in the Forgotten Realms. The Shore of Dreams is a popular one-shot with great opportunities for roleplay, trying new characters, and spending an evening with a small, good-natured gaming group. Only one seat still available!

About this game:

Time: Saturday, December 26th at 4:00pm EST
Run time: ~4-5 hours, for one session.
Cost: $10.00 USD, paid with PayPal in advance to secure your seat in the game.
Characters: We will create one 7th level character per player — but feel free to ask for a pre-generated character, no problem!
Group: Aiming for 3 players — I prefer to run smaller crews so that everyone gets more time to shine. Discord account required for audio chat between players.
What you’ll need: Basic familiarity with D&D 5th Edition and Roll20. Otherwise, just bring a collaborative spirit and a good attitude

How to join

Please send me a private message with the text below, starting with "Your Name," fill out the form, and I'll be in touch ASAP! This session will be booking 3 players, but I will follow up with additional players for alternative game times for overflow sessions. Thanks!

Why pay for a session?

  • Quality, maturity, care — You’ll get roleplaying, updated maps, soundtracks, and a standard of player behavior that weeds out anti-social, nasty or combative players.
  • Weeding out no-shows — Reserved spots ensures we get the small, committed party we need for a solid crew.
  • Production value — I love an immersive layout, and running paid games allows me to put those extra hours of prep time into fleshing out beautiful battle maps with dynamic lighting, custom landing pages, a selection of pregens and a hand-picked soundtrack.
  • Material costs — Roll20 memberships, hardcover books and digital tools cost hundreds of dollars. Small fees help me cover the personal costs of putting the games together.

Terms, warnings, assurances

  • If the game is cancelled in advance, you will be refunded any paid deposits.
  • Any racism, bigotry, homophobia, belligerence or bullying will not be tolerated. Murder-hoboing, harassmnent, any of these kinds of behaviors will result in a swift kick out of the game with no refund.
  • No metagaming! Have you read the PDF of this adventure before, and remember most of the details? Maybe skip this session, and send me a message about some other adventure or campaign I can run for you instead.
  • I practice and include the use of standard TTRPG safety tools — if you have any lines, veils, or otherwise have certain explicit themes you do not want included in your games, please let me know privately. I will accommodate you and it will have no bearing on your application.
  • The games I run should be a safe space for roleplaying, creativity and collaboration. If you feel I’m not doing my best to uphold these standards, please let me know!

Who is Jack the DM?

I’ve been running Dungeons & Dragons games for over 10 years across various editions. I love telling great stories and putting player characters at the center of those narratives. I like to use one-shots to teach the game, test out new encounters, and find quality players for longer campaigns.

I’m new to Roll20, but am putting maximum effort into mastering the tools so that I can create seamless games. I’d love to hear your feedback, and can’t wait to see you at the table!

Mandatory Disclaimer: This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $10/person at start of the session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
