THIS GAME IS HAPPENING OVER DISCORD! WE'RE ONLY USING ROLL20 FOR THE CHARACTER SHEETS
^ So, that aside, welcome to my first run of Blades in the Dark! I'm your GM/Online Host, Friar!
For those who are unfamiliar, Blades in the Dark is a game about daring scoundrels building a criminal enterprise on the haunted streets of an industrial-Victorian fantasy city. Sound like your jam? Awesome!
You'll be playing as these scoundrels- all part of a "crew" with different roles. What The Crew's main operations are as an illegal enterprise is up to you, the players, once the session begins. That said, you should go to bladesinthedark.com/downloads and preview the player's kit if you want to have a better idea of the rules, factions, and map before we start. The more rule lawyers, the faster the game will run, although it's fairly rules-light.
I'm looking to have a fast-paced, cinematic experience involving just three daring criminals- this is my first time running this system specifically, but I'm familiar with D&D 2e, 5e, Call of Cthulu, Paranoia, Fiasco, and Dread irl. How hard can it be?
The plan is to play this either weekly or every other week if all 3 players want to and schedules match up! If 2/3 do, we can search for a 3rd again, but really this is a casual experience and I am not pressuring anyone to stick around for a long time. Expect sessions to run up to 6 hours, but they can be shortened to up to 4 if this becomes a regular group.
I'll have an application thread open- please fill out the form there. Thank you!
