Rise of Tiamat

Wednesdays @ 5:30 PM - 10:00 PM (EST) with up to three 10 minute breaks.

Hello, beginner, veteran, and every kind of player in between! I am happy to post this listing for players interested in joining an ongoing adventure. Red Hand of Doom is a classic 3.5 adventure that I'm running for 5e. It's a classic fantasy setting set in Faerun that pits the party against an oncoming horde of goblins, dragons, and infernal creatures. This adventure is high in combat with opportunities to RP with the party and interesting NPCs.

The group currently consists of a human twlight cleric, human conjuration wizard, and a lizardfolk drakewarden ranger, at level 6.

My name is Eric, and I have been DM-ing for over 4 years now. I am hoping to find players who are new to the game or those who have not had much luck in finding a game they can really enjoy.

As a DM I try and follow the rules and mechanics as written, but I also believe that the most important part of any game is that everyone has fun, so I am also a big believer in the "rule of cool". I enjoy a balance of RP and combat but I personally have a lot of fun RP-ing different NPCs and seeing how my players interact.

As a paid DM, it will be my job to guide you and your group through the adventure. Since you will be paying for my services do not think of me as just a DM. Think of me as a facilitator, guiding you, helping you make a character, and explaining how to play DND while also presenting you with options and challenges that will ultimately pull you into the story.

My ideal applicant for the game would follow under any of the below criteria

  • New to DND and tabletop games and excited to learn more about this great game.

  • Have had bad luck finding an enjoyable or consistent game.

  • Intermediate or veteran players who are tired of dealing with flaky players or DMs.

  • Looking for a fun and inclusive DND game where the DM listens to you and incorporates your character's backstory and motivations into the game.

  • Enjoys a combat heavy game but is easygoing and okay when things don't go as planned.

If you fall under any of the above categories then please feel free to apply!

I understand the difficulty of finding a good and consistent game from both sides of the table. Trying to find a good group with a decent DM is what many people in the community would consider a "unicorn". The worst feeling I've had is getting myself excited and pumped for a game I've been looking forward to all week only for it to get cancelled or disbanded for unknown or depressing circumstances. That is why I am offering to run a few pay to play games for those dedicated and excited individuals who are looking to play in a consistent game.

This is the greatest benefit for paying for a DM; consistency. Having to pay ensures that the players and DM show up for each session barring any extenuating circumstances. Not only can I provide consistency but I will be helping you throughout the campaign with character creation and explanations of the rules and mechanics.

The first session is free so you can get a feel for the group and DM before you commit with your wallet. Every session after that will require a payment of $10 before the beginning of the session. I’m a very understanding person so I am open to discussing an alternative payment plan to better accommodate you.

If you’re interested in playing please send me a private message and/or post below in the application thread with:

-Your name
-What experience you have with DND, roll20, and TTRPG in general
-Your character idea or role you want to play. If you don’t have one that’s fine we can discuss it.
