Curse of Strahd (Fridays)

Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire lord Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness.
Lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle’s towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.

Roll20's required payment disclaimer: "This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $9 per session via PayPal. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements."

About the Game:
This will be a weekly session.

This adventure will/may contain themes of child death, forced marriages, kidnapping, murder, body horror, stalking, mutilation, torture, suicide and gas-lighting. But only if the adventurers do a bad job. Kidding aside, yes, this will be 18+ just to be safe.

If you are not fine with certain themes, please let me know ahead of time. I can tone down or change up parts of the game to avoid these.

About the DM:
I'm John, I've been DMing since my AD&D days. I have a good deal of experience with Roll20 DMing. I have played and run complete campaigns on here. I believe tabletop gaming and more importantly DMing is all about making sure all the players are having fun.

My rules on the table are simple. Don't be a ...dill pickle. Be inclusive.

I have most of the sourcebooks on roll20 and can share them to players through the compendium.

I use voice, audio ambience and imagery to evoke the player's imagination of the story adventure we are weaving together.

Character Rules:
I have the Compendium available for use. PHB/Volo's/XGtE/SCAG/Tasha's/VRGtR/TWBtW
Subclasses and races from Theros and Eberron are allowed. Except changelings, sorry. I have one flaw.
Create character at level 2. or the current party level.
Roll for abilities, Make sure the total comes to above 68 and there are at least two abilities above 13. Or Standard Array/ Point Buy:27.
No Homebrew allowed. UA will be okayed on individual basis
Characters can be any alignment, as long as it's not evil. At least, not at the start. Maybe in time.

In Game Rules:
PvP is based on mutual consent. Actions on other characters will require the other player to agree for it to succeed.
Some modified Feats: Sharpshooter/GWF (explained before we start character creation)
Modified Flanking: advantage is too strong and overwrites a lot of subclass mechanics. so a bonus is added instead.
Healing Potions take a bonus action to drink but still an action to feed to someone else.
Players may use inspiration to reroll healing for one effect/spell.

I'm aiming for a 4 player group but if the group can work with more even with the theme, I will open the game up to more players. Update: the game currently has 5 players.
Sessions will be 3 hours long including 10 min breaks with allowances of 30 mins going over for busier parts.
The game will be done thru Discord for voice and Roll20 for VTT.

The party of four are currently back in Vallaki at the burgomaster's mansion. Level 6.
