About Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Stephen (he/him) and I'm a 30-year-old public school film teacher based in NYC. I have a passion for D&D because it allows me to deliver cinematic experiences to players who have autonomy in the stories we’re telling together. I love the unique collaborative worldbuilding the game facilitates! I leverage my master’s in media studies and background in film production, game design, and graphic design to create immersive content for my players. Being an elementary and middle school teacher, I’m patient and have experience with clear, effective communication. I welcome players from all backgrounds and run an LGBTQ+ accepting table.

About the Game

  • Time: Every Thursday from 8-11pm EST.
  • Fee: $15 per session, paid via PayPal or Venmo.
  • Platform: We’re going to use Foundry VTT for the best-possible virtual tabletop experience. Foundry allows for: animated lighting, spell effects, and maps; fully customizable 3D dice rolling; automated combat; an interactive landing page game environment; and so much more!
  • Style: The campaign will feature an equal ratio of the three pillars of D&D: combat, exploration, and social interaction. Rules and concepts from Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft will be incorporated to amplify the cosmic horror elements of the adventure.
  • Communication: Zoom for voice and video. A Discord server for our game will be used for messaging between sessions.
  • Custom Assets: Subscribing to artists on Patreon is one of my guilty pleasures. For my games I use Photoshop to customize token and battlemaps assets from a library of over 55,000 images. I’ll work with you to find or create a topdown token that suits your character.
  • Voice Acting: I’m not a professional voice actor, but I try my best to provide all NPCs with unique and engaging voices. Having a special voice for your character would be great, but is not required!
  • Individualized Character Creation: I'll have chats with each player (beginning now and through the first session of the campaign) where we will handcraft your character's origins, background, and campaign-shaping plot points.
  • Session Zero: The first session, where we meet as a group for the first time and make preparations for the game, will be free.
  • Character Options: Sticking with the options in the 5e sourcebooks makes things easier to balance, but I'm open to taking a look at any races, classes, subclasses, and feats you wish to choose for your character, from UA to homebrew. If it doesn't seem like it will break the game and it meshes well with the group, you're good to go!
  • Experience: Any level of D&D experience is acceptable. New players looking for a smooth introduction to the game or experienced players looking for a fresh play experience are welcome. Your enthusiasm and engagement with the game world are the most important things to bring to the table.

About Rime of the Frostmaiden

In Icewind Dale, adventure is a dish best served cold.

Beneath the unyielding night sky, you stand before a towering glacier and recite an ancient rhyme, causing a crack to form in the great wall of ice. Beyond this yawning fissure, the Caves of Hunger await. And past this icy dungeon is a secret so old and terrifying that few dare speak of it. The mad wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood long to possess that which the god of winter’s wrath has so coldly preserved—as do you! What fantastic secrets and treasures are entombed in the sunless heart of the glacier, and what will their discovery mean for the denizens of Icewind Dale? Can you save Ten-Towns from the Frostmaiden’s everlasting night?

Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden is a tale of dark terror that revisits the forlorn, flickering candlelights of civilization known as Ten-Towns and sheds light on the many bone-chilling locations that surround these frontier settlements.
