The Path of the Ascendants is a campaign set within a homebrew world, using the D&D 5th edition ruleset. I am an Australian DM who loves RP looking for two (2) friendly players; the sessions run weekly on Tuesdays 7:30 - 10:30 pm (Australia CDST+10:30). The game will have five players in total.
As a homebrewed campaign, the main plot will be designed to be extremely interactive and changeable by the players choices and actions, for both good and ill, with the players backstories and plots woven into a convoluted story of intrigue, mystery, and discovery. I am a DM who focuses heavily on role-play and creative methods to get out of situations, but sometimes a good old-fashioned combat just can’t be avoided, and actions and choices will have consequences, both good and ill. There is a huge emphasis on being invested in each other's stories, and the characters coming together as a team.
The setting of the campaign is in the world of Azuria, where there are six elemental factions: Earth, Air, Fire and Water, Light (Logic/Mind) and Dark (Heart/Emotion). Each of these factions has its own predominating races (please see below) and cultures.
The characters will find themselves in an ancient world thriving in an age of technology and discovery. Many of the countries have been enamoured with the promise of knowledge and wonder in the planes beyond, and the scientific and arcane minds of the mysterious Spikkaus Varash, or Twisted Kingdom, honed their craft and created the mechanisms called Avalon Gears, to make planar travel possible. But these gifts came with a grave warning.
"Let your heart travel lightly. Because what you bring with you becomes part of the landscape."
Little did the world know that such power would call dark things to them like a beacon. As dark creatures and ancient lore found their way into the world, many treasure and bounty hunting groups began to emerge, offering services as “purveyors of the fantastical”.
Please note the following:
I am not open to the use of homebrew classes.
If this campaign sounds like something you would be interested in, feel free to put in an application. All applications will be considered. To apply, scroll down the page and select the post topic titled ''Campaign Applications Here''. Once inside this post, I require the usual character application, re: Name, Race, Class, Alignment, Deity (if applicable, and please see the attached pantheon), Appearance and Backstory. In addition to this, there are a few short questions that I would like answered, so I can get a feel for your personality.
If successful with your application, you will be privately messaged and further details will be followed up via a Discord interview.
Please Note: Minmaxers/Powergamers/Optimisers will not be considered, as Roleplaying is valued and rewarded via the Milestone XP system.
DO NOT send your applications through private message. Any applications sent through in this manner WILL NOT be considered.
