Are you looking for more than just a weekly game of D&D? Have you tried other paid D&D set-ups and found yourself feeling like a customer rather than part of a community?
The Multiple Nerdgasms server, hosting eight ongoing campaigns and a drop-in/drop-out West Marches campaign, is so much more than just your weekly hit of D&D. A thriving community of 60+ players, many of whom are playing in 2, 3, or as many as six campaigns at a time, speaks to what a fun, friendly environment we've created at Multiple Nerdgasms.
If you're looking for a fun, tailor-made D&D experience and friendships that will last a lifetime, we've got three years of fun under our belts. We've had players meet up and even start dating in that time!
We're an LGBTQI+-friendly community open to all genders, races, and backgrounds. In addition to our many thriving D&D campaigns, we have a community of channels ranging from movie discussion to cooperative video gaming to a book club. There's always something going on.
If that sounds like what you're looking for, get in touch!
From the idyllically peaceful coastal town of Sandpoint to an ancient lost city at the top of the world, Rise of the Runelords takes a party of adventurers from 1st to over 20th level and delves into the mysteries of Varisia's ancient past. Millennia ago, the powerful empire of Thassilon ruled the land, dominated by despotic runelords who maintained their power through harnessing the power of rune magic. Thought gone forever, the workings of Thassilon are not so far beneath the surface and one of the runelords plans a return to power. Only the brave adventurers stand in his way.
G'day! My name is Chris and I have been DMing games of Dungeons & Dragons for 24 years. I am a professional Dungeon Master running 40+ hours of D&D 5e/Pathfinder 1e/Pathfinder 2e every week, with more than 40 paying customers spread across nine weekly or fortnightly campaigns.
Not only do I have a pro subscription to Roll20, but I also own every available Roll20 resource for D&D 5e, including the module and a number of supplemental modules I'll use to expand upon it. Additionally, I have an extensive collection of tokens, a massive collection of high-quality battle maps, custom status tokens, a Syrinscape subscription, a private Discord server with a thriving community of more than 70 players, and a truly colossal collection of third-party reference materials (in excess of 1,000 titles).
You're looking at that list of modules and thinking "that is impossible". It is!
I am not aiming to run four fully-fledged adventure paths concurrently, but rather to weave elements of them into one larger Varisia/Runelords-centred epic. To accommodate this, I'll be using both the slow advancement track and a liberal dash of homebrewing to ensure the modules do not lag behind your advancement.
Even so, this is an ambitious task, so I'm looking for a group of players who are excited to tell an epic story, explore the Varisia region, and undertake something that will likely take us several years to complete.
Along the way, we'll discover ancient secrets, combat foes both classic and new, and attain levels of power that will likely take you into the realms of mythic adventure. It's going to be huge.
I'm a story-first kind of DM. I do not believe in an adversarial relationship between myself and my players and like to work with the group to conjure the best possible story experience.
We'll be working together to tell a story, and while there will be challenges thrown in front of you that you should absolutely prepare for, I do not want the game to devolve into a GM vs. players fiasco that makes the game unfun for anybody.
I love to challenge my players with unique combats and scenarios, but I am also a big fan of roleplay and character development.
I want to work with you to have ghosts from your past come back to haunt you or to engineer unique character moments for you to undertake alongside your allies.
Put simply, I'm a story first, combat/puzzles/traps second, and min-maxing a distant last kind of guy. If that doesn't sound like you, chances are you aren't going to enjoy this style of game.
Your $40 not only gets you an experienced DM with a tremendous set of resources at his disposal but also goes towards purchasing additional content as needed. This includes the ongoing Roll20 Pro subscription as well as additional battle maps, sourcebooks, and content that will be used to add to the campaign.
I also own a fully self-hosted and ready-to-run Foundry account for the event of Roll20 outages.
I'll work with you to weave elements of your backstory into the game, and I often create unique spells, feats, items, and even classes for my games as needed.
I'm a trained actor who does a variety of voices, accents, and quirks to ensure NPCs feel like living, breathing parts of the world rather than just a set of stats.
Every other session, I'll put together a 1,000+ word session summary. I'm a professional writer, so these form a great ongoing narrative for you to enjoy.
I prepare high-quality, dynamic lighting-enabled battle maps (where needed), make use of Syrinscape and professional music for audio accompaniment, and will have a purpose-built, fully-boosted Discord server for both OTT and game chat.
For now, I'm looking for a committed group of players who can handle weekly sessions and can commit to contributing to an ongoing, collaborative narrative.
You don't need to come to the table with a pre-build character (in fact, you should definitely not to that), but I would like you to consider a few questions:
What is your experience level with the Pathfinder system?
Have you played Rise of the Runelords before? If so, how far did you make it?
Have you played any of Second Darkness, Curse of the Crimson Throne, Shattered Star, or Jade Regent before? If so, how much?
Have you played much (if any) Pathfinder Society content?
What percentage of roleplay, combat, and puzzles/traps do you prefer?
What time zone are you in?
In order to play, you'll need Discord for voice chat and between session banter. We do not use video, so a webcam is not necessary.
Sessions are $40 USD each for a 3.5 - 4.5 hour session, a 1,000+ word writeup for each "chapter", and access to my full library of Pathfinder RPG resources. I own every official Pathfinder product ever released, as well as a huge variety of third party resources.
A full Character Creation guide is available upon joining but, for more info about how we'll be building characters, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM or comment below.
Below, you'll find a few testimonials from players both past and present. I am currently running seven other successful ongoing campaigns (one homebrew, four Tomb of Annihilation, one Night Below, and one Rappan Athuk).
I suspect like many people, I was drawn to try D&D following watching shows like Critical Role. Having last played some RP games back in the 80/90s I was lacking in-person options and was drawn to roll20 as a chance to dip my feet into the world. I tried many (many) free games with mixed success. I had fun, but never really lasting or satisfying games. Players (and DMs) would flake and drop out and I was considering stopping.
I thought I’d try one more shot and signed up for a paid game with Chris running “Tomb of Annihilation”. I could not be happier with that decision! Right from the start, Chris was welcoming and helpful, talking the group through any questions and involving everyone. He’s so well prepared, with fleshed out NPCs, locations, and events that it’s easy to get be engaged straight away. He allows players to build their characters and party dynamic while moving the story along subtly - decisions have ramifications but I always feel like I’m in charge of my character’s destiny!
I cannot recommend Chris enough - it’s worth the price for the preparation and summaries alone, not to mention his excellent handling of content.
I joined Chris almost 6 months ago and I'm really thankful I did. My earlier experiences with Roll20 were less than exciting, and finding an enthusiastic DM that was worth the money and time investment seemed impossible... then Chris came along, and into the jungles of Chult I went. Half a year later, I've become part of his freshly-brewed Steampunk style Princes of Elemental Evil campaign, and I'm loving every moment.
Chris is an extremely talented and organized DM who is always ready to improvise when things get wacky. He's got tons of different accents and voices up his sleeves, thousands of sessions in his resume, and manages all three pillars of D&D equally superbly. And if all this wasn't enough, he has a wonderful discord community packed with lighthearted goodness and other gaming opportunities.
15/10 will keep playing.
I’ve been playing with Chris for about three years now, and he is such a fantastic DM. He really puts so much time and effort into making every session an experience. When I first joined I was new to D&D and Chris always made sure I felt supported and confident and never made me feel stupid for asking questions or needing extra help.
I’ve had the opportunity to play Tomb of Annihilation with him TWICE, the first time all the way through, and now again for a second time with a new group. While I absolutely loved the first round, this second game is even better! He’s really ironed out all of the kinks of the pre-written adventure and added his own content to make the game even more exciting.
I also play in another one of his home-brew games, which is fantastic as well. I’m honestly so impressed at the amount of time and work that he puts into not only the adventure, but the dynamic lighting maps, tokens, and fleshed out NPCs. Chris also loves you to have really fleshed out characters, and if you put in the effort, so will he! He’ll be sure to drop Easter Eggs just for your own character and pull in elements of your backstory, and current desires and ambitions. Chris is always tailoring the adventure to the needs and desires of the party, which I think is amazing and makes playing so much more fun!
Chris puts an incredible amount of effort into each session. You will genuinely feel like you're playing a sandbox no matter which campaign it is, or how much of a WILDCARD your party has.
I feel like its definitely value for money with the quality of entertainment you'll find in these sessions.
Chris has helped me with developing a more fun character concept very genuinely MANY times while playing a meat grinder campaign! He always works with his players to bring a fun story to life, and has a great understanding of the rules to deliver this for his players.
The summary that he makes for every session really reads like a diary of your adventure, and you can happily look back on it long after the session is over.
I am a paying player, early 40s, married with children, a working professional, and have been playing RPGs for nearly 30 years.
I have tried out three GMs since joining Roll20 at the start of C19 lockdown, and have stuck with CWB as returning burdens required me to cut back.
CWB is on time, prepared, respectful, enthusiastic, and runs a great session – interesting adventures, voice acting, facilitates RP between characters as well as with NPCs, thoughtful combats, manages difficult players, violence is not the solution to all encounters.
I’ve been playing with Chris as a DM for about 5 months in modular and west marches style campaigns. I can honestly say there has never been a dull or tedious game. Chris is an expert a pacing intense, fun games every time with wonderful world building and characters to interact with. If that isn’t enough, he has brought together a wonderful community of people that bond in and out of game. Chris has definitely opened my eyes to the full potential of what an RPG can really be, and I hope I can keep playing with him for years to come.
Multiple Nerdgasms is a terrific DM, and person to boot. He has made my first real foray into D&D an absolute blast. His perfect mix of patience, guidance, humour and preparedness has cemented my desire to keep playing and get involved in more adventures. In my view, his rates are well worth paying, every session is well planned, heavily adapted to suit every party members character and challenging.
I began playing D&D in 3.5 and have enjoyed many campaigns as a player and as a DM. Over the last few years, I have run a campaign of my own with friends, using miniatures and traditional hex mapping. However, COVID made it impossible to meet in person. We attempted to transition our group to Roll20, but after many hours of preperation, I found it too cumbersome to use effectively for our group, so we decided to take a break until we can meet in person again.
However, I did discover Chris on Roll20. He advertised himself as an experienced DM who could make Roll20 behave in an enjoyable manner for his players. I decided to try his group as a player. Although sitting at someone else's table can be challenging for someone accustomed to being behind the screen, I found Chris's style to be very welcoming. Most of all, he is fair. I have had the pleasure of sitting with three different groups at different times in different campaigns. Each had its own flavor: one group was very heavy RP, another was very noobish with few experienced players, and another was balanced, with experienced players who use RP to enhance the game play. These are very different groups, and as a DM, it takes skill to make each of these tables seem open, welcoming and fun. Chris makes each of these different group dynamics work. This skill is invaluable for a DM. He uses 5e rules with a few house rules, but he has been open to implementing things that the group wants--as long as the impact isn't disruptive or game-breaking. No matter whether you are new to 5e or a grizzled old D&D veteran, I believe you will find Chris's style open, safe, and fun. He doesn't force the action to go a certain way, and in-game decisions have consequences: just ask anyone on his 'halls-of-the-dead' wall who has sufferered a catastrophic PC death! I have learned a lot that I can take with me to DM other groups, and wholeheartedly endorse Chris as a super DM.
Chris can turn a plain book game into a visual masterpiece from great voice acting to perfect descriptions he will have you in full immersion. going out of his way to give great character hooks and fresh character options for any campaign. His rule knowledge is incredible, it is rare for him to encounter something he doesn't know the direct rule for but if this happens he is always fair on a judgement ruling. 9.5/10 because not even Matt Mercer could get a 10
I first played D&D with Chris back in 2017 when I joined a group that he was already DMing for and more recently he DMs for a new group with some beginners. His knowledge of the game has helped beginners learn and play as if they have played many times before. Chris’s style builds a great atmosphere throughout the game with excellent combat scenes, as well as the build-up and travel within the story, keeping every session a joy to play and makes you look forward to the next one. A highly recommended DM.
Chris is a natural storyteller with world-class improv skills. Chris' games are a perfect balance of humour and sincerity/gravity. After twenty years Chris is still able to surprise me with his talent and originality.
CWB has designed and organised my RPG lifestyle for over 5 years. He delivers regular sessions for both seasoned and newbie gamers, using both custom and source materials to suit the players' wishes.
CWB is an incredible GM, smoothly sailing his players through campaigns with both fairness and compassion. Long or short, games shared with CWB is time well spent.
Chris has been running our campaigns now for over 6 years, during this time he has put on awesome session after awesome session on a fortnightly basis.
I've been offered other campaigns by other DMs but they don't stack up to the immersion Chris adds to our games. I truly find it hard to game with other DMs. He is always fair in his rulings and gives the perfect balance of roleplay + dice rolling. 10/10 would game with again."
We’ve been playing D&D with Chris for over a month now. This is my first time playing D&D, and Chris is a great DM, especially for beginners.
He is always well prepared with interesting stories and quests, he plans far in advance so we’re always prepared for each session, but his improv during sessions always introduce fun and exciting twists.
Because of his years of experience as a DM, his knowledge is limitless as well as his patience and kindness.
Could not have asked for a better DM for our first game!
Chris is an accomplished DM/GM who provides an immersive experience for his players. He is a skillful world builder and engages his players with colourful character voices, and adaptable gameplay. Most of all, he puts effort into preparing his games and puts a priority on his players having fun.
I have been playing with Chris since 2016 and I can not recommend him highly enough. He is patient with beginners, happy to allow you to tweak abilities and classes to suit your character and I always look forward to a DnD session with him. The adventures we go on are unique, full of laughter and a good balance of roll play, aggressive battling and problem solving
