Hi! I'm looking for 3-4 players to join me for a long-term game using the Odyssey of the Dragonlords campaign module.
About Me as a GM
My name is Liz! I'm 27, and I've been playing and DMing 5e since 2015. I aim to create a safe space where everyone feels excited to play and knows that their ideas will be valued by the other folks at the table. My ultimate goal would be for us all to collaborate on a narrative that feels meaningful, where you are invested in the outcome of not just your own character, but other characters and the story as a whole. I enjoy worldbuilding, lore, sensory visuals, and dramatic encounters. In terms of RP-to-combat ratio, I think I usually run about 60/40.
The Campaign
You may enjoy this module if you like the idea of your character being fated to be a hero - even if they accept that fate reluctantly, or not at all. The setting, lore, and creatures are inspired by Greek mythology and traditional fantasy tropes. Your character might become a warrior-hero, an oracle, a dragon-rider, a deity - depending on your decisions, and a little bit of destiny. A "plot" summary can be found in the "Creating a Character in Thylea" forum post below!
If you're interested in learning more about the module, you can access the Player's Guide here for free: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/267073/Odyssey-of-the-Dragonlords-Players-Guide
There are a few character creation restrictions for this game, which I’ve detailed more fully in the stickied post below! Please take a look to make sure you’re okay with those or to ask any questions you may have, and know that they are meant to more fully immerse you in the game world rather than limiting your creativity. :)
Expectations
I think it's important to lay out expectations for a game and a group from the outset, so here's what I have in mind:
- We will meet on a 3 weeks on, 1 week off schedule, Thursdays at 8:30pm PST.
- I highly prefer that everyone be willing to use video as well as voice; I find that it helps with immersion, engagement and getting to know the other folks at the table.
- We will use Discord for video/voice and Roll20 for maps, dice rolls, etc.
- We will have a session zero before our first "real" session, to create and introduce everyone's characters, discuss safety tools, and set up goals and expectations for the campaign.
Application
Please post below with the following information:
Name/Age/Pronouns:
Do you have any experience with 5e? (not a requirement at all, I'm really just curious ^.^)
What are you looking for in a group?
Anything that interests you about this game in particular?
