A new brand of hot dog that's unusually cheap and tastes of lizard, burnette women in their early 20s going missing with no one seeming to notice, biker gangs that seem unusually fixated on spiders. New York City is filled with mysteries, independent aberrations that form piece of this puzzle we call the universe. Maybe if you uncover them all you can finally understand how this thing called magic works.
This is a game of Mage The Awakening 2nd Edition. It takes place in modern day NYC, as a cabal of mages doing their best to survive through the politics of pentacle society and navigate the morality of having power in a world ruled by the weak and ignorant.
The Party currently consists of an Arrow Obrimos, a Libertine Acanthus, and an unordered Thyrsus.
I've been running games for about 16 years, and running professionally for over a year. I have a background in improv, acting, and voice work, and try to bring a more narrative and roleplay friendly vibe to the games that I run. I love collaboration and sharing narrative authority, my favorite thing is having my expectations thrown out the window because of the cool stuff my players do. I try to make the world feel as alive as possible, with NPCs that have motivations, and desires, and factions that work behind the scenes while the camera focuses on the players. You can check out any of my streamed games at Twitch.tv/gmdisco.
Making sure that everyone is comfortable at the table is one of my top priorities. In my games I use a safety mechanic called lines and veils to set expectations and boundaries to avoid any kind of triggers. Anything that you don't want to say in front of the rest of the party can be messaged to me in private and I'll simply add it to the list anonymously.
