Hive World Gorgon was a planet with a booming economy. However, for the past 30 years the planet has fallen into a pit of despair. The common man is under constant oppression. The Four kings of Gorgon run everything within the Hive City called Victus VII with an iron fist and complete tyranny. How did this occur you may ask?
50 years ago the planet instantly vanished and reappeared in a new system not so far off the screaming vortex. As to who or what did this is not known, but one thing is, on that day an unsettling eeriness came from the opposite side of the governors Hive city. After 2 years of the event known to the populace as the great shift, the other half of the planet no longer responded. With no response or supplies coming in from the hive cities of that side of the planet or nearby on their half of the planet, food and material started to become scarce.
As time went on the Governors hive city started to become self-sufficient but drastic changes had to be made due to the citizens starting to denounce their faith in the Emperor and acting erratically as if the sanity had been drawn from their minds. To this day nobody knows what caused this phenomenon, although some suspect it was the Four Kings. Ecclesiarchy members grew more in number and power, Shrines and Imperial Cathedrals of the emperor became more common than usual, homes of every citizen above the underhive were checked for any signs of heresy and those that were found were burned in public for their sins. Arbites also began to rise in number and power, as did the PDF that defended only key areas that were on the outer walls of Hive City Victus VII and entrances to the upper hive. The mechanicus forces rarely left their factories and Labs but still provided simple weapons to the PDF and Arbites but kept all the superior weapons to themselves.
The citizens of Victus Prime VII then became compliant but something came over the Governor. A few hours later he ordered a meeting with the heads of the Adeptus Arbites, PDF, Mechanicus and the Adeptus Ministorum. He walked in as if he were a puppet but before anyone could even respond the Governor whispered “this is the end for all us fools…” and blew himself up along with the entire room. Four Men from each organisation (the Adeptus Arbites, PDF, Mechanicus and the Adeptus Ministorum) informed the hive city that it was them who took out the Governor and corrupt men at his side and that they would bring prosperity back to not only Victus Prime but also all of Gorgon.
Nobody expected such a turn of events but the citizens were overjoyed. Alas not for long. The Arbites were as ruthless as ever keeping a watchful eye over everyone and if anyone dared to oppose the Kings they would be sent to the underhive, the members of the ecclisarchy made sure there were preachers at every block to seek out any signs of heresy and to constantly spread and bombard the people with the word of the Emperor, PDF stayed garrisoned around the entrances of the upper hive and at the gates around the wall of the city and the Mechanicus delved in making new tech for the four organisations but ofc kept the best to themselves. The Four members were to be then called as the Four Kings of Gorgon.
All of you live in Victus VII and are greeted randomly by a cloaked and transparent individual (that comes in different appearances for each of you in terms of height, voice, weight etc) that tells you that he wishes to become the ruler of Victus VII and has been organising a revolt against the Four Kings and the Emperor with the powers of chaos (of course you do not know of what he speaks when he mentions the chaos gods). He tells you that he has organised a party of people that will be his elite that will help him achieve his goal and you are part of that elite unit. In an instant he presses a finger on your forehead. You begin to hear the whispers of promises, freedom, power, knowledge, immortality. You also see images of what the inquisition does to the people who speak out against the tyranny of the imperium when using the powers that the gods try to give humanity and other visions of the power you could obtain if you serve the chaos gods. He then let’s go and gives you a map that leads to an intersection in the underhive and when to meet there. Will you go and use the powers of chaos as justice and help this stranger become the next ruler? Will you use the party or the stranger to become an all-powerful being yourself? Whatever the decision, you feel utterly compelled to go to that destination as if it were your destiny.
Thank you to those who read that wall of pain haha. This will be a black crusade RPG. You can use any archetype even those from the expansions of black crusade but as long as they are human and fit in the fluff of this world, that doesnt mean you couldn't have come from another world as a mercenary, renegade from the imperial army or even just a regular human before this planet was sent to another system. Expanding on that weapons also obviously have to make sense if we as a group want to be in an immersive world, just PM me if you want to use a certain weapon and we will talk about it :). I may question you as to what that class has or does and see if it is okay for use in this campaign. You will also start off only with 650points of exp instead of the usual 1000xp if you choose an archetype from the Black Crusade core rulebook and none if you chose one from a tome (expansion book). I will be using skype so put your skype name in your application. I like social people who love to talk not only in game as a character but also just the casual conversations between people. This is my second time Gming so will have to excuse the fact that my experience may be lacking from time to time. Amount of exp you have in RPGs doesn’t worry me but must have a good amount of knowledge about the 40k universe. Time and day can be changed if it becomes an issue for the majority of you :), Stories don’t have to be great but will depend if you are picked or not. A simple "can i join" and nothing else added will not get you in the game... .
