Two Craters - Thursday Afternoon

Campaign now level 13! Room for one more!

World Wiki: http://twocraters.wikidot.com/

Greetings Adventurer,

If you have received this letter, that means your application to work for the Archival Archaeological and Anthropological Survey of the Southern Rings has been accepted. We offer a large variety of contract positions, but please make sure to bring your sword, armour, components bag, magical staff, alchemical kit, and/or related vestments, as the cratorial interior can be quite harsh. Depending on the timing, you may be asked to venture into the arid heat of the Driftstone Desert, the frozen forest of the World Glacier, or the depths of Gak's End.

Please meet me at the docks of Ipotechia on the 5th of Murmety for your induction and first mission.

Regards,

Professor Lucius Whitebeak

When WHOM abandoned the world, the Gas leaked from the earth. Lighter than water but thicker than air, the purple Gas can kill a human in a few minutes, and strip them to the bone in a few hours. It subsumed the world, and the people fled to mountains and plateaus to seek refuge.

The Cratorians, however, sought a different refuge. Laying brick after brick, the Levees were built to hold back the Gas from entering the Southern rings. Millions died over many generations to seal off the Gas, but the prosperity that followed would make the Southern Rings the world’s last true continent.

The craters themselves are from a time beyond living memory, perhaps a gift from WHOM before their love for the world waned. Some say the craters were originally a curse, created by another god’s fists hailing from the sky. Regardless, they are a blessing now.

Journey into the Southern Rings and earn yourself glory, riches, adventure, or - at least - a good time. The time is at hand to discover secrets, both old and new, amongst the ruins, forests, mountains, and deserts of this strange land. Apply below.

Hello! This is the Thursday afternoon edition of my Two Craters homebrew campaign!

About this campaign: This is a semi-serious, semi-sandbox, semi-storytelling campaign that will take you on a wide variety of dungeon delving, politicking, world exploring, and sidequesting. While a main campaign with set locations is outlined, the party will be driving much of the action forward at their own pace. This is an entirely homebrewed world and campaign, with fully lit custom-drawn maps (or purchased assets, where appropriate). Encounters use a mixture of stock creatures drawn from the compendium and custom-built creatures, all balanced to party level and ability.

This campaign will consist of a mix of straight roleplay, straight encounters/dungeons, mixtures of both, politicking and diplomacy, courtroom drama, sea-born melodramas, stealthy hijinx, survival treks, and much much more. You, the party, will decide what to engage with, and how!

This campaign starts at level 1, and will go to levels 12-14, using milestone levelling. All 5e canon builds, items, and options are allowed (including Tasha's variants). Homebrew/UA builds will usually be allowed, possibly with some balancing at the DM's discretion. We'll work together to build a character that meshes with the world and also kicks butt! :)

This campaign will be run over Roll20, with voice and coordination done through Discord.

About Me: I am a professional dungeon master with a decade of experience doing theatrical improvisation and stand-up comedy. My strengths most certainly lie in storytelling, worldbuilding, voice-acting, and especially improvisation. However, I do build my own dungeons, encounters, and other mechanical things, and I have few issues diving into the crunch of combat or brewing up some custom items for rewards. If you enjoy a bit of humor and a focus on growing your character and the world around your character, we're going to be like two peas in a pod.
