Between Gods and Mortals

History may be written by the victors, but it's curated by the living.

In a world where the deities were once mortals that rose to power, can pass on their role to a successor, and even be usurped, nothing is permanent. With every shift in the social and power dynamics between the gods, society itself must shift and adapt. Allegiances are renegotiated and faith itself needs restructuring.

While shifts in the pantheon only occur once every millennia or so, there is still an immense wealth of knowledge lost with each transition, whether intentionally or not.

What would you do if you uncovered truths that the gods themselves wished to remain secret?
How would you feel if the deity you centered your life around was suddenly replaced by another?
Where would you go?
Who do you turn to?
Who can you trust?

Logistics:

• session 0 will occur April 14th

• Thursdays at 1:00 pm eastern (weekly)

• sessions will last approximately 4 hours

• using Discord for voice and video

• maps and character sheets will be here on Roll20

• milestone leveling

Players

• looking for 2-3 more players (party size would be 4-5)

• must be 18+ at the time of application (this will be privately verified upon final invitation)

• new and newer players welcome

• lgbtq+ folks and non-men will be prioritized (includes all women and all nonbinary folks. agab doesn't matter)

Character Creation

• level 6 (at the lowest but I may bump it up a level or two)

• all official, published races and classes

• open to working with you to homebrew character options (multi-racial characters and subclasses)

• multiclassing is totally fine

• no premade homebrew stuff found online and no UA

• rolling stats (4d6, reroll 1s, drop the lowest)

Notes

• Consent and boundaries forms will be utilized and enforced. Off-limits topics include racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, corruption + abuse/brutality involving law enforcement, eugenics, SA, SH. Please note that there will inherently be gore, injuries, and death (this is a campaign involving combat)

• Character death will be a possibility in this campaign but it will never be a goal.

About the DM

Hello!

I am 26, nonbinary, queer and go by they/he pronouns.

I started playing Pathfinder 1e and D&D 5e about 5 years ago and since then have also tried D&D 2e and Starfinder. I have DMed a handful of one-shots and PVP battles but have yet to run a full campaign.

In RPGs, I highly value collaborative storytelling and a good balance of roleplay, combat, and exploration so I can only assume that that will reflect in the way I run a campaign.

I do have a BFA in creative writing, which I like to think speaks to my ability to create intriguing stories and worlds.

I'm also a huge nerd about a lot of things but especially love D&D, human behavior, language/communication, and zoology.
