Root: Gelilah's Grove

The woodland is a vast and ever-changing wilderness filled with danger and adventure. Various factions have been fighting for control of the wilds for decades: the Cat Marquessate want to industrialize the forests, the feudal birds of the Aerie want to reestablish their kingdoms, and the Woodland Rebellion want only anarchy and freedom.
Vagabonds are those that are beholden to no faction and instead work forever has coin or for whoever needs justice. This is a tale of a group of vagabonds who come upon a settlement, Gelilah's Grove, where nothing is as it seems.

This is a story-based, some combat fantasy game (no magic) using animal characters.

This game uses a simple ruleset based on D6's. A oneshot to gauge further interest in future games and the strength of the system. Please answer these questions in the discussion if you want to join.
What animal do you want to play (any air breathing vertebrate wolf sized or smaller)?
What is your combat style (ranger, rogue, swordsman, has only a stick, etc.)?
What is your social style (loner, leader, liar, intimidator, friend, etc.)?
Why did you leave your home/village to wander the woodlands as a vagabond and who did you leave behind?
One-sentence description of your character. (example: I am a bat with two swords from a foreign land seeking a worthy opponent to duel, I am a weasel historian with a cane and a bag of trinkets looking for my lost sister, I am a black cat who can't stand authority and just wants to set the world on fire!)
