CrimDeel Dungeons

Hello everyone, we will be playing your choice of module, campaign, or series. The group has decided to start with Icewind Dale then possibly branch off into other modules, one-shots, or what-have-you.
I am more experienced with Icewind Dale, Tales from the Yawning Portal, Lost Mines, and Humblewood. I'm up to run anything else the group wants to play, but I'll have to read and research so the game might not have an 'as evened out flow' nor as much of my creative flair, at least not until I'm more familiar with it.

That all aside, game info:

This is Generic Game info, but it is typically how I run my games, my DM style if it were:

  • I will use roll20 to play my own music and ambiance, mute it or listen, your choice.
  • I will be using some animated effects and heavy on dynamic lighting, so Hardware Acceleration turned on in your browser will be best.
  • VTT Enhancment Suit addon is very handy, if everyone has it then I can even use some animated battlemaps.
  • I will be recording some sessions, but not all. Mostly do it for friends and missing players.
    • I can stream on request, but only if everyone agrees; but D&D is a boring watch and my stream setup is very basic. So on request only.
  • I have some pregenerated characters, I can also help you in the character creation.
  • We play weekly from 4pm-7pm ET every Sunday. We will plan for 3 hours and the start time can wiggle around a few hours if we need.
  • Voice Only, using Discord for voice, no need for cameras or expensive mics.
  • Try to be respectful, we'll discuss what is acceptable at the table. (Gore, sensitive topics, etc etc.) Well try to be sensitive and watch our topics, but please don't expect too much from strangers on the web.
  • We can discuss custom rules you'd like (I.E: Flanking and etc). I have a few custom rules myself regarding a few things, that will be in a Discussion down below.
  • Homebrew classes are generally discouraged, but I'm not one to say no to fun. (Pick at your own risk, I may call for some changes if it ends up being too much.)
  • I use point-buy for stats.
  • Gamble for health: Roll or take the medium, but not both. A single reroll is allowed on a result of 1 or 2 only for the first time each level; but if you roll, you can no longer take the medium.
  • Variant rules and multiclassing, all is good.
  • Trying not to limit you guys is what I'm aiming for, so go nuts with your backstory, I'll try to work with it.
  • I tend to run games with an even mix of combat, roleplay, and social encounters.
  • I try to run challenging combat but not deadly. What I mean is: the fights are not overtuned or even use high CR monsters, but I tend to play creatures like they would be played. I'm a strategist at heart.
    • Intelligent creatures will employ strategies, tactics, and sound thinking.
    • Beasts will look for the easier meal/target and run for survival, packs will gang up on a single creature.
    • Undead will be mindless shamblers but be greater in number.
    • Etc Etc
  • I like to reward creative thinking rather than be adverse to it, you can think of something clever enough, that may be the solution to your puzzle lol

 About me:

I've played DnD 5e since it's release, touched some 3.5 and pathfinder, but a total of 10+ years with ttrpg. My work life has been management of retail, call centers, and customer service and my private life full or writing, artwork, and DnD. Between the two, running a ttrpg game has been second nature to me.
I've been running games, writing campaigns, and drawing art for them for as long as I've been playing; and I hope to spread this to others to enjoy.
Unfortunately I'm not a voice actor, but if your looking for a game with an immersive world and story telling, I'm your guy.

I run my games a bit like a socialist, these are your games (even more so since your paying for them) so if there is a problem I like to handle it as a group. Same for any rules we might want to implement or homebrew nonsense we want to include.
I like fun, if it sounds fun and it's fun for everyone, then I'm down.

Payment info:

Now for the unpleasant nitty gritty, I have run games for over a decade with most games running for 3-5 years. The quality of game I try to provide has made players wonder why I never charge, and much to my dismay, I'm at a point where I now have to charge for my games. So this is the pay info:

  • This will be done through Patreon or Paypal in a monthly fashion, more details are listed there.
  • I'll charge players only $5 for a missed session, to hold your 'seat' so to speak.
    • A canceled session due to lack of players I'll only charge the players that cancelled.
    • Any unforeseen cancelations on my end will be free, of course.
    • I'll credit anything I owe you and use it for your next payment. In the event you quit, I'll refund anything I owe you.
    • (You miss a session then inform me you quit afterwards, or quit only a day or two before the next session, I'll still charge you the $5 for that session. Common curtesy to your fellow players.)

As a side note, I am a community player and DM. I'm known by many of the D&D community and Roll20 D&D Community. I offer my services for free to help you learn D&D and Roll20 as either a new DM or Player. I can help setup your own Roll20 games to get started right and help explain features on the site. I even give advice and can be a world building soundboard for you.
I want more people to feel comfortable hosting and playing games (even if it means more competition for me); I want more people to experience D&D and have fun with it. Since I now charge for my games, all I can do now is help others get started into their own adventures!
