Introduction

Welcome to Vassarus

Fifty years have passed since the murder of Good King Omund at the hands of Ajax ‘the Invincible’ and the end of the Last Age of Law in the lands of Vassarus. The many fortresses protecting the civilized peoples from the dangerous wild lands beyond have fallen into ruin and abandonment; the legendary and incorruptible Dragon Knights now only a myth to the younger folk.
Now there is no more King, no one to unite the people of Vasloria and to hold back the many enemies of all free folk. Only feuding dukes and barons, of which few put the interest’s of their people above their own. And all the while, the wild creeps ever forward, consuming both road and village, to the ruin of all.
Terrifying whispers of Ajax’s return and of an ancient shadow awoken across the waters have begun to reach the shores of Vasloria.
But in a distant corner of Vasloria, far from such rumors and troubles, lies the barony of Bedegar, harrowed by a recent orc raid killing the baron and his family, and within it at the edge of civilization there is the village of Gravesford. Though unimportant to the world, you have in recent times found it important in your hearts for it is a symbol of what once was, and what may be lost from the world if there is no one to save it from the coming years.

About the Game

Ever wanted to be more than just an adventurer? To have your own strongholds and armies at your beck and call? Look no further.
This game will be played with content from MCDM’s “Strongholds & Followers” and “Kingdoms & Warfare” book, starting with the ‘Siege of Castle Rend’ adventure from the former. Don’t worry, you don’t need to know what these are, I will share everything with you that you need to know prior and during Session 0.
Using this material means that this campaign will see the party getting it’s own stronghold with followers and troops during the first adventure, with the possibility of expansion into a full on realm if the players are interested in continuing the campaign.
However, the setting of this campaign is NOT the original setting described in the aforementioned books, but a homebrew setting using elements from the MCDM world.

Rules

  • Victim Based PVP/Stealing
  • Rolled HP (*minimum 1 roll 15+ and no 2 rolls below 10) or Point-Buy (party’s choice)
  • Characters start at 4th level
  • No evil characters
  • Blood Hunter is allowed
  • Homebrew material needs to be discussed with me but can be permitted (nothing too out of theme though, no material and characters based on other media)
  • Additional house rules will be shared during Session 0

Why pay to play?

A lot of games have the issue of having flaky DM's and players, meaning that either players just drop out whenever for whatever reason and DM's just stop running the game. And it's common knowledge that when people put money on the line they tend to take things more seriously.

Me as a DM

  • Focused on delivering a comfortable and fun time for everyone
  • Treating all players as equal
  • Experienced and more than willing to help you with Roll20 and D&D
  • Whilst respectful of the rules, generally leaning towards "Rule of Cool"
  • Always open and available for questions and complaints between sessions
  • Respectful of everyone’s time and will, if it should occur announce the cancellation of sessions as far ahead of time as possible

Me as a Person

  • Nerdy university student living in the picturesque Switzerland
  • Originally got into RPGs through my love of lotr, playing and running The One Ring RPG before running a long running homebrew d&d 5e campaign

Payment and Refund Policy

My standard rate is 15€/Session per person for a 3h - 3.5h game. If it so happens that the players would like to extend the duration of the sessions by an hour, I would charge an extra 2€ per person
If you are happy with the game, and see yourself playing for some time, you can pay 58€ for a full month (4 Games) of playtime. (Not including game extension)
Additional information
- After every 10 played sessions you get a token that you can use to NOT pay for one session that you will be absent for
- Character creation will be taken care of for free with the DM's guidance.
- You are expected to pay for the game regardless of if you are absent or not.
Refunds for sessions will occur for the following reasons:
- If there are technical issues with Roll20 that cause the game to be canceled.
- If the DM is forced to cancel a session for any reason.
As the DM, I reserve the right to accept, deny, or remove players from the game, as well as the right to cancel the campaign at any time. Should any of these extreme situations occur, outstanding subscription balances will be refunded in full to all affected parties.
