The Elven Empire of Atril flourished for millenia. A place of culture, science and the economic power of raw magic - Arcanum.
For ages, the secret of the Atrilian power and potential for creating enchanted and magical items was kept through tight security measures and restrictive politics. But where there is great power the hungry will come to feed on it, and no amount of secrecy will seal information completely. Thus others came from across the Sulphur Sea, settling in hopes of a better life.
But as Arcanum was mined more aggressively, and in disregard of restrictions, the Empire's ecosystem began to shift and corrupt. Arcanum seeped into the local flora and fauna and as the power struggles between different fractions escalated, Atril tore assunder.
Records of this event are kept under lock and key. So only very few elders actually remember, and for the younger races it is more myth than history.
There are always rumours of course, and Atril is no different. Local legends and old wives tales tell of the titans freed from their underground prison as the Empire tore apart. Only through the combined effort of all parties were the titans wrangled back to their prisons, and the order of the gods upkept...
Vezgaxur is a city of quiet prosperity that lasted for the better part of two centuries.
A council of elders consisting of equal parts representatives of the city's populace and academics has ruled and safeguarded Vezgaxur. However a strange unrest has gripped the townsfolk since the sightings of what some call ghosts and others yet portents of calamity.
There are secrets locked away under the city, but forces are at work to break the seals. Is one of the titans kept under Vezgaxur? Are the legends more than old wives' tales?
What might happen if the seals are broken?
This is a collaborative setting, I am open to having players involved in some of the world-building if interested. However, the core city and world lore exists of course.
