In the bustling Varisian city of Magnimar, there's always business to be found and coin to be made. Though the daunting mysteries of Thassilon loom literally over the city's districts, most people are more concerned with making deals or finding bargains here. Sometimes however, those two elements converge. A mysterious man named Augrim Mosh believes a magic relic called the Black Opal Staff is sitting somewhere in the Irespan- the ruins of a massive Thassilonian bridge that once stretched out over the waters and beyond the horizon- and his interest in acquiring it has lead to him seek adventurers to take care of the dirty work.
That's where you come in. Through a third party named Alfen Perrigo, Augrim (who himself apparently lives somewhere in the nearby Mushfen swamps) has contracted a number of skilled individuals to retrieve the staff. It has been seventy-seven years since people ventured into the Irespan, and the last time was merely to quarry stone but ended up releasing hordes of spider monsters. Though it's impossible to say exactly what awaits the adventurers in the ruins that stretch beneath Magnimar, danger is assured. Even gaining access to the ruins was difficult, though Alfen has greased the right palms to ensure his contracted employees will be allowed inside.
This is a Pathfinder campaign based in Pathfinder's default setting, Golarion. Rather than using an officially published adventure path or module however, it involves a custom adventure where the PCs should be adventurers who have individually somehow heard of and accepted Alfen's request for some gifted individuals to fetch the Black Opal Staff and then deliver it to his employer, Augrim. I expect this campaign to be relatively short, more comparable to a module than a full adventure path.
This game will contain mature content, including explicit sexual material. Applicants should expect to receive a PM from me where we can privately discuss some of those details but unless you're interested in playing out erotic scenes in the game, you should probably find a different game. To be more blunt, this is an ERP game. Please don't apply if that idea doesn't interest you (or, of course, if you're too young for that sort of thing). That said, sexual material is not the sole focus of this game and there will be both combat and non-sexual role playing in the game as well. Hopefully, we can strike that happy balance that will be right for everyone.
Rules for character creation: This game will start at level 3rd level, and I'm pretty open about what I will allow. All Paizo classes except the Occult classes are allowed, and most other Paizo material is also acceptable (but please don't make characters heavily focused on summoning). Dreamscarred Press' Psionic materials are allowed in place of Paizo's Occult theme materials, and Path of War is also available to use. Partial magic-psionics transparency is in effect. Other 3rd-party material might be allowed, but only after I've had a chance to review it on a case-by-case basis. 25-point buy will be used to generate your stats, and you may also spend your WBL (3,000 GP) however you like with the single rule that you may not spend more than 50% of your money on any one item. For HP, your first level's HP is automatically max while your second and third level will be rolled in-chat after joining the campaign (with a minimum value of half the HD so that no one gets fucked too hard by the dice). Each character also gets two traits, with a third trait allowed if they take a drawback.
What I want from applicants: When applying to the game, I don't need a complete character sheet yet (although if you have one, feel free to post it!). What I do need is their alignment, gender, class, and race along with a brief description of their backstory/personality, to give me a decent idea of what your character is like.
The description should also include why he or she has taken Alfen up on his request for brave adventurers to fetch the Black Opal Staff (which pays a handsome reward of 2,000 GP per person, half of which has already been paid to the PCs and accounted for in their 3,000 GP budget). "For the money" is a perfectly acceptable reason considering he's paying so handsomely, but if that's what you're going for is there something particular your PC wants the money for or is he/she just greedy?
Also, the listed date for the game is more or less a placeholder and will probably be changed once some of the players have been picked, although Friday or Saturday are not going to be possible for me. Posting what times do or don't work for you would also be really helpful.
