A fire flashes orange. Whirling about, he seizes the violet-robed figure who materializes it, lifting them by the throat with a backward, clawed hand. The servant apologizes for the intrusion. They are here, they say; strangers from beyond the mists have arrived.
Those are the servant's last words. As their body hits the floor, the Maharajah's eyes narrow with glee. Then he is gone. Only smoldering incense remains, its smoke twisting beneath his goddess's grin.
The lord of Sri Raji is on the hunt, and you are his prey.
Phantasms of Sri Raji is a Dungeons and Dragons campaign that will take characters from Levels 14-20. Dubbed "the thematic sequel to Curse of Strahd" by its author, this module modernizes many elements of the 2nd edition Ravenloft campaign setting that Wizards of the Coast chose to leave behind.
The domain of Sri Raji is not one of gothic horror, but rather a luscious jungle where the only goal is to make it out alive. To help enforce this survival horror theming, I have designed a system that combines the Fear and Stress rules from Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft with the Exhausted condition that was introduced (and sadly removed) from the 5e'24 playtest material.
The goal is for the campaign to be roughly 50% roleplay and 50% combat. In this world, your character's actions have consequences, which could lead to serious harm or certain death.
(NOTE: You do not have to have played Curse of Strahd to participate in this campaign. It is not a direct sequel, and only callbacks to thematic elements, such as a fortune card reading.)
My name is Zach, I'm 21 y/o, and happily together with my girlfriend of a year and a half. I have significant PC and DM experience, having played Curse of Strahd, Tomb of Annihilation, and Descent into Avernus and DM'd The Wild Beyond the Witchlight and Candlekeep Mysteries. Having seen the dangers of balancing high-level play before, I am excited to take on the challenge of delivering an excellent, stressful, and frightening play experience for you!
If you are interested in applying, I have an entire document laying out how I run campaigns and the table rules that I use. It is listed under the topic "Player Primer: Introduction." After that, click on the "Application" topic for a survey link that will let me know you are interested!
