D&D Adventure: Diablo: Covenant of Darkness

It is an unholy time. They always knew he would return, it was just a matter of when. The world of men has nearly forgotten the ancient prime evil known as Diablo, the Lord of Terror, but... they will be reminded in blood.

The dead have begun to swarm the lands of Sanctuary. King Leoric "The Black King," ruler of Khanduras, has begun ordering summary executions of anyone who questions his authority.

Meanwhile a mysterious woman arrives in the small village of Tristram. Offering untold riches, she summons all able bodied warriors in the land to fight the growing darkness. Hope is diminishing as the armies of men are cut down before the endless dead and the foul magic that corrupts them.

An evil that has waited in the darkness now seeks to plunge the world of Sanctuary back into a bloody age of despair. The dead and demons alike now stand between the heroes of Sanctuary and all hope.

For reasons known only to yourself, you have heeded this call for heroes and are traveling with a merchant caravan heading towards Tristram.

Campaign Style

Although this Campaign is based off Diablo as you know it from the popular video game, there will be homebrew changes that I will make. Many things you will recognize and others you will not. Make no mistake though, this campaign will be just as dark, gothic and savage as the Sanctuary you are familiar with! Your characters will be stronger, the magic items more plentiful and the combat more common than traditional D&D games! Along with all of this will be a storyline full of heroes and villains and the legions of Hell at your back!

Why Pay to Play?

These days so many people are trying to get into a free game, but there just aren't enough experienced and good DMs to meet the demand. More often than not players spend their valuable time filling out applications and get rejected time and time again because of too many people trying to apply for each free game. When you actually do get accepted players sometimes don't show up or the DM doesn't show up or is unprepared. It's a very negative experience to go through constantly when all you want to do is have a good time and relax.

About your Dungeon Master

I have been running Dungeons and Dragons since the 1990's. Over the course of my extensive experience I have run short campaigns and long term campaigns lasting several years. I have a passion for creating living stories and adventures that my players can experience in a fantastical world. I strive to create an exciting world full of intriguing mysteries, alluring treasure, and deep NPCs that are rewarding to discover.

I endeavor to create a highly immersive experience that is unmatched, such as extremely descriptive game environments, exciting and dynamic combat full of interactive opportunities, freedom of choice, and atmospheric music that changes based on the mood and situation. Furthermore, I love roleplaying and creating realistic voices for NPCs and acting them out in a colorful way. I also take great pride in creating custom characters, stories, and encounters not included in the written material to keep things interesting!

Above all I want to make sure that everyone has a good time and gets the experience they wanted. I will strive to help you create your character and a backstory if desired. I welcome both new and experienced players to my game!

Character Creation Details

• All new characters begin at level 3
• FREE Feat at level 1!
• Attributes are determined by a 33 point-buy system (Max stat cap 16) OR Rolled, 4d6 dropping the lowest die
• Max HP at 1st thru 3rd lvl. Take average HP every level afterwards
• You may start with 2 Uncommon magical items of your choice!
• Starting Equipment & Wealth Rules: You will receive your normal starting equipment for your class. In addition you will receive 500 gp plus 1d10 x 25 gp starting wealth. (You may purchase 1 Magical Healing Potion of "Common" type with this wealth, but no other magic items)
• All Official published material is allowed for character creation
• Unofficial material is subject to DM approval
