[D&D 5E] The Wiseguys! Homebrew Kobold Mafia D&D (Sunday) New Players Welcome!

Introduction
READ BEFORE APPLYING

"The sprawling city of Newport thrived under the glaring lights of prosperity and progress, its towering buildings overshadowing the working man out in the streets. But within the depths of its heart, concealed from the prying eyes of the law-abiding, a different kind of life pulsed. It was a realm ruled by darkness, a hidden world of crime, money and greed, where power was obtained through bloodshed and loyalty was measured by the silence of whispered secrets.

In the shadowy alleyways and smoke-filled backrooms of the city, there were 5 families who reigned supreme in their respective areas of operation: The Monaldo, Lazaro, Peretta, Giantonni and Costanza Families reigned supreme. For decades, they had dominated the city's criminal landscape, their influence permeating every aspect of illicit enterprise. Led by the shrewd and imposing figures of their respective bosses, the families now run the entire city, and have multiple operations organized to make them feared throughout.

Each family possesses its own unique brand of influence, whether it be through smuggling, extortion, gambling, or political manipulation. These families have long held their grip on power, but cracks are beginning to appear in their once impenetrable facades.

As aspiring criminals with dreams of wealth, respect, and authority, your characters find themselves with an opportunity. Getting a chance to work for the Lazaro family via your old childhood friend. The path to becoming a made member is no easy feat, requiring guts, strength and the sheer willpower to be there every day, and do the dirty work that the higher ups don't want to do.

The development of divination and enchantment spells has just begun to take it's baby steps, and only people that possess one of the highest powers may exchange these with one another due to it being such a commodity, which is why the guard/law enforcement have difficulties extracting truthful information from these criminals, and need to proceed with conventional interrogation/investigation tactics."
