## Welcome to Varisia Living Campaign!

But what’s a Living Campaign you may ask? Imagine something along the lines of one large campaign with a huge cast of characters and players. The table is always open and always ready for roleplayers. You can log in after a day of work, find someone to roleplay with, and maybe even end up on a quest along the way! It’s an ideal setup for someone with a busy life.

A Living Campaign takes the attributes of a normal Pathfinder campaign and through the use of some homebrew rules, which may be read on our VLC Wiki here, as well as trying to follow the general guidelines of balance as established via Paizo’s Pathfinder Society, and then expands the experience into a never ending game between many different players!

Varisia Living Campaign uses the already established Paizo backdrop of Golarion as a baseline, making the Pathfinder wiki a good starting point for new players.

Varisia Living Campaign revolves specifically around the port city of Sandpoint. In which adventures and arcs may exist and take place beyond Sandpoint, but Sandpoint itself serves as a hub for roleplay. This helps to keep all the players into a single general location to facilitate RP. Everyone is within walking distance of the other. We also keep the alignment of characters restricted to good and neutral; this helps set the general tone of the overall campaign and reduces the chance of Player vs Player combat breaking out, which has a tendency to turn into hard feelings and cause everyone headaches. We also avoid sexually explicit content, for many reasons including the presence of players aged less than 18 in our roleplay.

We only use the first edition of Pathfinder.

We use an extremely cultivated system of Roll20 (as well as Discord) to allow players to log in and RP across various locations. We also utilize Discord, a social application to help facilitate the running of the game as well as other avenues to roleplay. Our RP is entirely text-based, we do only use voice in OOC discord channels.

Varisia Living Campaign might be for you if you’re looking for;

• A dynamic vibrant cast of characters, due to the sheer number of players!
• A variety of roleplaying styles. Some people may be more silly and lighter in their roleplay, others more elaborate and heavy. We’re fine with both approaches.
• Finding games on short notice. It’s ideal for someone with a busy life or erratic schedule. Our gaming sessions occur on a variety of days and times, and players can join as many or as few as they wish and are available for.
• A game open to a wide variety of approaches and characters. Some people may want to play whimsical characters, others more serious. A swashbuckling pirate or a stout strict Paladin! A goofball goblin or a dour elf! The rainbow of characters just adds to the fun.
• Player-ran organizations, with the possibility of founding new ones.
• A balanced setting generally following Pathfinder Society legality utilizing feat tax, with no untested wildcard homebrews.
• A game transparently ran in a democratic manner. No singular tyrant here! We have an elected team of Moderators that are subject to oversight by the rest of the GM's.
• We possess a system where players may run sessions with GM oversight and eventually even join the GM team.
• A game that takes social maturity seriously. We don’t entertain prejudices or harassment in our community.
