Isle of Dread [5e Fri 7:15 EST]

You and several other would be adventurers were hired by a Wealthy Noble who had come in contact with a mysterious map speaking of an Island that appears only every 30 years in a strange mist for only a few months. Swimming to shore after a shipwreck the noble tasks the adventurers he hired to seek out the treasures of the Island, in particular, a Black Pearl the pirate Rory Barbosa spoke of in a letter left with the map.

As far as the setting goes, this is the time of exploration. The 1440s where sailing ships and colonization is in full swing. With that comes black powder and basic firearm use. They're loud and scary, and are therefore good at scaring off creatures not used to such a thing. Armor is still in use, but unlike most campaigns where you can swim in heavy armor, for this one in particular I would like to take in consideration extra weight affecting buoyancy. For 90% of the campaign, its not going to come up, but if you're planning on doing anything around water be sure to go in without any extra baggage; basically only a weapon as even leather when wet become quite difficult--this isn't simple difficult terrain, it would be Athletic checks or start sinking.
