SHADOWRUN: WORLD TOUR $6 Cover

Birth, school, Shadowrun, death! Start a Shadowrunning music group that creates its own genre, then runs and guns its way through the scene. Shadowrun: World Tour - Paris Edition is the first stop on a global tour spanning five continents.

                                        STARTING A BAND

CONCEPTUALIZE YOUR SOUND: Decide on your band's musical style. Will you fuse ancient shamanic chants with cutting-edge synth technology, or combine orc rock with elven ballads? Determine whether your sound will embody rebellion or be a complex spell set to melody. Players are encouraged to either invent their own genre or choose from the ones thoroughly described in this book.

WHERE DID YOU FIND YOUR BAND MEMBERS: Perhaps the Shadowland BBS or frequent local haunts known for their music scene. Did everyone come up in the same neighborhood?
Instruments: Each player should choose an instrument and collaborate on developing your sound. Who will be the singer? Is one even necessary for your genre?

MANAGER: Handles agents, business managers, groupies, the mob, etc, etc on behalf of the band. Session zero is the time to decide if the manager will be a PC or an NPC.

BAND NAME AND PERSONA: Choose a name that captures your band's essence. Select carefully—despite the adage not to judge a book by its cover, people often do judge a band by its name, which immediately shapes their perception.

SECURE A VENUE: How did the band find their first real venue? The first venue that suited your band's image, from underground clubs to upscale downtown lounges. Usually, negotiation skills of your manager or your network to book gigs that match your band's identity help with these things. Who wants to be stuck playing grocery store grand openings?

FIRST GIG: When did you finally take the stage and harness the crowd's energy to amplify your performance in resonance with the city? Remember, every show could be as risky as it is exhilarating so watch your back and play every gig like it'll be your last cause when jamming in the shadows you aren't just making music, you're surviving.

PROMOTE YOUR BAND: Use creative methods to advertise your performances, such as hacking billboards, distributing AR flyers, or employing spirits for word-of-mouth marketing. Generate excitement in both the physical and digital realms. Encourage the band during session zero to come up with inventive ways to promote their music.

PROTECT YOUR INTERESTS: With the potential threat of rival bands, hostile corporations, and butt hurt governments, consider hiring a fixer to manage your affairs and ensure no one double-crosses you.

FIRST HIT SONG: Do you even have a hit song or are you one of those festival jam band types? Maybe both? What's the name of your most popular song? Keep in mind that you are developing the back story of an Arena headlining group.
