Dreams of Love

CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR PLAYER TO REPLACE ONE

"The Gods are terribly cruel...if there is love, why take it away? Why just sit there and let something so precious be taken away? Why...?" -Unknown

In the year 2016, the ruler of Arianhod, the premier city and capital of the country of Clakoris, had slowly descended into corruption and lead to the fall of the empire that it rules. As a result, the world around Arianhod had begun to feel the repercussions of the leader's fall. Eventually, the empire itself had decided to overthrow their ruler, and this led to a new period of time where the various countries around had soon removed the original ruler and left an empty space on the throne. This is problematic however, because that ruler was the last of their line, and there is none to take their place.
In the stead of the ruler's absence, the council of the city of Arianhod had looked to its citizens and major contributors for proper passage of the political rights of ruler.
Several candidates stepped up, and and each of them them began to form individual parties and groups to find control over the capital. The council would not simply take one leader of any group, and no vote would be sufficient to prove the parties' rightfulness to lead. As such, the country has been in a bit of a deadlock, and there is a lot of civil unrest amongst the people as the various cities face disorder, chaos, and a number of other problems. In fact, several groups have decided to take matters into their own hands, and try to enforce law in a land where the lack of a ruler means that almost anything can go.The Adventurer’s guild seems to be the only organization to keep the peace around the world, and with you, the player, joining this guild after having only a taste of adventuring, hopefully their job will become easier and the fate of the continent in better hands. What has brought you to join the guild, and what do you hope to accomplish? Hopefully something to help bring peace to the world.

This campaign is a homebrew 5th edition campaign and it is a LONG term game and has some important roleplay elements in addition to session time. Expect to be a part of it for many months to come -- but only if you're dedicated!!

This campaign contains furry characters. If you have any issues with furries or the fandom, please do not apply. For each race, there is an analogue conversion for the race into a species. While the original races still exist in the world for variance, furry alternatives are available if not preferred because of the current party. Upon acceptance, we will discuss the conversion options.

Sessions take place on Monday and Tuesday nights, 11:30 pm to 4:00 am CST If you do not attend, you do not receive Experience. There will be creative ways to make up for lost experience however, if you do miss content. Will discuss if accepted.

What are we looking for in a player?

The following list may seem very specific, but this is for the interest of the group.

  • A player 18-25 years of age. (This is marked as mature content mainly because we prefer people over the age of 18)
  • Must be able to attend sessions that go into late night -- some sessions will end at 4 am or 4:30 am.
  • Must like furry/anthropomorphic characters, LGBT friendly.
  • Must like anime and anime-esque content.
  • Doesn't mind innuendos, not overly sensitive to jokes.
  • MUST have a sense of humor but also know when to take things seriously to appreciate storytelling.
  • Open minded. Vivid imagination and able to play with descriptions given. Creative is a plus. Fun personality is even better! Twice as much points for being an artist!
  • For experienced players -- must not be a rules lawyer, munchkin, elitist, or power gamer. Must not be prone to rage over low rolls.
  • Responsible and reliable -- consistent in showing up. Schedule should be relatively free over the course of the week to receive notifications and participate in roleplay.
  • In good health and not currently weighed down by excessive anxiety or outside factors.
  • MUST REGULARLY USE DISCORD AND LOG INTO DISCORD -- THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL! (all sessions are hosted here and it's nice to talk outside of session)
  • During a session, must be vocal and participate meaningfully, but not be overbearing or taking a leadership position.
  • Although listed as "New Players Welcome", please make sure you have an understanding of role play and are capable of learning quickly. We do have a preference for people with some amount of experience with roleplaying games in general (not necessarily D&D 5e). If you come from another system (such as Pathfinder or 3.5), please play with an open mind and try not to make assumptions about the system, because 5e has radical differences than previous editions.
  • Friendly and not trying too hard to be formalized. Gets along well with people. Hopefully a gamer outside of D&D as well (for friendliness purposes.) Not overly logical as well.

What are we looking for in a character?

  • This campaign uses the traditional 4d6 keep highest 3 for stat generation. Roll all stats 3 times and pick whichever set of stats seems best for you. (I am reasonable in this regard too).
  • Alightnent must be GOOD or Neutral with good intentions. Any of Lawful, Neutral, or Chaotic is fine. (The campaign is good aligned and it helps to keep players together in the party rather than at each other's throats).
  • PLEASE DO NOT COME WITH A CHARACTER YOU ALREADY HAVE MADE! The character should be original for this campaign and you should not have a sheet made for them yet. Do NOT link a sheet with your character. If you are accepted, then you may begin creating your character after I've disclosed campaign details.

House Rules

  • Reroll all 1's on hit dice for level ups.
  • Players can draw dungeon maps (and are rewarded for doing so)
  • Books used: Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, DMG, Princes of the Apocalypse Player's Companion (for spells. Races subject to approval.), Sword Coast Adventure's Guide
  • Race to Furry-Equivalent conversions are purely aesthetic. They do not affect abilities or statistics apart from what the base race has. Furthermore, all characters in-game can identify your racial equivalent.

How do I apply?

When making an application post

PLEASE CREATE A POST WITH THIS FORMAT AND ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS, OR I WILL IGNORE YOUR POST
(Sorry if it seems like a lot, but we have these things for a reason!) You do not have to be overly detailed. For experience, please do not send me a resume or a million links to things about your experience -- a sentence or two can suffice.

  • Who are you? Do you have any nicknames you prefer to go by or persona/fursona names you use OOC?
  • What is your Discord or Skype?
  • How free is your schedule? Is anything possible to interfere?
  • What is your time zone?
  • Are you a furry or do you like furries? (Hopefully yes to at least one of those)
  • What is your experience with tabletop games, or if you have none with D&D in particular, how fast can you learn and how eager are you to play?
  • Do you do any chat-based role-play or have done any? What do you use Skype for? What was it about?
  • Are you an artist or do you use any sites such as fur-affinity, tumblr, deviantArt, etc.?
  • How well do you get along with people? Do you have any quirks we should know about?
  • Do you have a stable connection and a decent quality microphone? (Extremely Important)
  • For fun: do you play any video games or watch any anime? Any other random stuff you want to tell us? Additional questions will be asked if necessary, possibly in-thread or through Skype message.
