You are the only survivors of The Maiden’s Fury, an airship out of Waterdeep that crashed after a fierce battle with a white dragon in the midst of a blizzard. The ship hit the icy waters of Maer Dualdon, and quickly began to sink. Huddled on pieces of debris, you were rescued by a fishing boat out of Termalaine.
It took several days for you to get back on your feet. The ship was lost, as was most of the crew and the mages that hired you.
Termaline is a picturesque village. It seems as if anything made of wood has been carved to capture the image of something beautiful or majestic or even a little dark. A powerful wind pummels the town, heaping the snow into drifts that reach to the rooftops. Each day is dark. The sun never seems to crest the horizon as dark clouds blot out the sky. Winter has come to stay.
Far from home with no easy back, you will need to make your way in a harsh environment filled with hardships, danger and wonders. It is a land that has broken many, but it is also a land capable of forging heroes.
We’re playing Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. That is the background of our world, but what actually happens will depend on the actions of your characters.
Session Zero will be used to establish character connections, flesh out backstories, finalize character creation, and to kick off the story. We’ll also go over safety tools and house rules.
Characters can be survivors from the crash of The Maiden’s Fury, or they could be locals to the area. They will be created and tracked on Roll20.
