Homebrew: OnePiece (Fridays)

“The age of pirates has begun...”
Two months ago, the world stood still as Gold D. Roger, the King of the Pirates, laughed on the execution platform and spoke the words that changed everything:

“My treasure? If you want it, you can have it. Find it! I left everything I own in One Piece!”

In the weeks since, the world has surged into chaos. Thousands set sail to chase his legacy. The seas roil with ambition, dreams, and bloodshed. And the East Blue, the calmest of the four seas, is anything but calm now.

You are already a crew—united by fate, friendship, or something stranger. Pirates, bounty hunters, dreamers, revolutionaries, or something in between. You set sail aboard your ship to make a name for yourselves. Maybe it was glory you chased, perhaps freedom. Maybe vengeance. Maybe... the One Piece.

But fate had other plans.

Last night, a sudden storm swallowed your ship. No warning. No way to steer. The waves came alive, the sea screamed like a beast, and something-a—presence—dragged your vessel beneath the surface like a toy.

You are awake now on the shore of a small, uncharted island somewhere in the East Blue. Your ship is in pieces, scattered on the sand and rocks like a shattered bottle. The air is heavy with mist, and the jungle beyond the beach is eerily quiet... but you’re alive. That counts for something.

You have your crew. You have your wits. And each of you, by fate or fortune, carries the spark of something more—a curious item, magical or mysterious, that survived with you. Its origin is unclear. Its potential? Unknown.

The world doesn’t know your name yet.

But the seas are waiting.

This campaign will start at level 1 and intends to run until level 18-20, depending on the will of the party. Each player will start with a custom item tailored to their build by me (The DM) in addition to anything that was being worn before the shipwreck. This campaign aims to strike a balance between being just relaxed enough to have a great time and enjoy the jokes and banter while simultaneously giving an engaging and thrilling adventure. All ages are welcome, including new and veteran players.

You can also choose to be a mink or fishman, as well as any other canon one-piece race, and I will help figure out logistics with that if you would like. As far as magic goes, I would prefer if the party started without devil fruits, as they are very powerful within the world I have built and would be more of a later game thing. That being said, I'm not opposed to Flavor. If you are a sorcerer who uses a special gadget to cast spells, and you can make it make sense, then I will gladly allow it.

About me - I have about 5 years DnD experience both as a player and as a DM. That being said I'm not perfect so please don't expect me to be. I'm open to any ideas that players have, and I think it adds a new layer of fun to the game instead of doing everything by the book. Overall, I'm looking to have a good time and roll some dice in my very own one-piece world.
