DEMO Highground tactical wargame using household objects for terrain

Remember how, as kids, we turned books into fortresses and stacked mugs to create a wizard’s tower? In Highground, that childhood imagination shapes battlefields and realms of wonder. You create the battlefield using everyday household objects. The games comes with lots of digitally-rendered objects to build your table. But you can also add your own. The messier your table, the better. The only limit to how big and high you build your battlefield is your imagination.

What is Highground: the Ascension by Paul Camp on Roll20?

Highground is a fantasy tactical Wargame, set in an epic fantasy cosmos, where heroes journey through the Nine Realms to take the high ground and claim victory.

This Core rulebook contains everything you need to play. Highground can be played in three modes:

Campaign mode:

Explore the Nine Realms in campaign mode and follow the epic story laid out in the core rulebook. One player takes on the role of the gamemaster. Other players each control one hero to cooperatively defeat the challenges the gamemaster puts before them. Best played with 1 to 4 players.

Solo mode:

Embark on a one-player campaign in a heroic quest of loss and perseverance. Solo mode requires no gamemaster. You control one hero or a party of heroes and defeat enemies that act according to an easy-to-use evolving ‘enemy AI’ system.

Skirmish mode:

Have a battle royale in the competitive skirmish mode where each player assembles a party of heroes that each have their own strengths, to duke it out on the battlefield. Best played with 2 to 8 players.

Dynamic Battlefield System: Use Everyday Household Objects

Highground’s unique dynamic battlefield system allows you to change the battlefield midgame by moving, stacking and rotating objects. Have your heroes pull up a wall of books, bring down a mountain of plates, or fly across the table on a saltine cracker. With the Dynamic Battlefield System, your heroes won’t just navigate their environment, they’ll command it. And that makes for a game like no other.

Quick to learn, hard to master

The basic rules of Highground are easy to learn and even fit a single page. But mastering this game and exploring its many strategic options is more challenging. Meaning, you can keep improving and discover different styles of play.

Included:
  • The Highground core rules
  • 32 game cards
  • 16 hero tokens
  • Household objects to build your own battlefields

Let's Demo (demonstrate) this new campaign today – Highground awaits!
