The Debts of The Depths (Wednesday)

The Debts of The Depths
Strange things have begun happening off the coast near the quiet town of Seavale and those who claim to have seen something… wish they hadn’t.

Two-Shot

This is a double-session adventure for a party of 5 level 5 characters using the D&D 5e 2024 rules. It’s designed to run in about 3 hours for each session, though that depends on the group and how things unfold.
Your small crew has been sent individually to investigate what’s happening around an island nearby. What should have been a simple trip quickly becomes something... far more dangerous. Something old is stirring beneath the waves.
Cheat death, brave the sea, and break an ancient curse… or become part of it.

2024 Rules Only

I’m using the 2024 ruleset, which I’ll share with all players. Please don’t use 2014 material when creating your character.
No homebrew or house rules for character creation. If a rule question comes up during play, we’ll make a quick ruling and keep the game moving.
I roll dice in the open. No fudging. If the sea claims you… it claims you.

New Friends, New Voyage

Your characters begin as strangers, though you’re welcome to say some of you already met once before.
We’ll sort out the exact details in the first few minutes.
Each character should have a reason to be investigating the island whether it’s work, curiosity or simply the promise of adventure.

Tone & Expectations

The story mixes exploration, combat and roleplay.
You’ll sail toward an ancient island, uncover what’s been haunting the waters around Seavale, and face something far older than the town itself. The deeper you go, the clearer it becomes that some debts were never meant to be paid… and some secrets were never meant to surface.
Your choices may decide whether the curse ends… or spreads.

Safety

Classic stuff. Be respectful and kind to each other. Everyone is welcome.
If something in the game makes you uncomfortable, message me privately (even just sending an “X” works) and we’ll pause and adjust. [Possible risk: Astraphobia (thunder and storms) and Thalassophobia (deep bodies of water/the ocean)]

Character Creation

Level 5 characters as precised above.
Once invited, you’ll have access to my Roll20 Compendium and can build your character using the Roll20 Character Creator.
Please keep characters within the system there so everything stays organized.
No need for a long backstory but have a think about who your character is beyond the big numbers on their sheet.

Next Steps

If you're interested, post below with a few basic details about yourself, your character and what you enjoy playing most in D&D.
I’ll choose the five players I vibe with most and invite them to the game and Discord.

Hope to sail with you soon.
