Beneath a crimson sun lies a wasteland of majestic desolation and cities of cruel splendour, where sandal-clad heroes battle ancient sorcery and terrible monsters. This is Athas, the world of the Dark Sun campaign setting, a dying planet of savagery and desolation. Life hangs by a thread in this barren land, and now it is up to you to write your own story in blood and glory.

About the Campaign
In any world, heroes are those who have the power to make a difference, the opportunity to act, and the motivation to challenge evil. Athas is no different. Fearless desert wanderers seek their fortunes in the decadent city-states, trusting to their quick wits and quicker reflexes. Wily dune traders and proud nobles venture into monster-haunted ruins to plunder the treasures of the ancient world. Clever wizards study forbidden arts, hoping to master the magic needed to survive, and ambitious templars scheme for power. When you begin your journey beneath the crimson sun, you might be a mul fighter whose flashing sword wins her fame and fortune as a gladiator in the arena; an elf rogue whose crooked dealings in the Elven Market allow him to spy for the Veiled Alliance; a thri-kreen ranger from the Western Hinterlands, fascinated by the debauched ways of the city dwellers; or a human warlord who battles against slavers and fights to survive in the desert wastes. These heroes represent only a handful of the stories you can tell with the races, classes, and backgrounds of the DARK SUN campaign setting. Regardless of your race and class, you face the same basic questions as do all heroes of Athas. Do you fight to survive the world, to plunder it, or to better it? In a place of brutal oppression and cruel savagery, what makes you a hero?

Hi, and welcome to the world of Athas, a fantasy post-apocalyptic setting where your character will have to fight not just desert raiders and monsters but also the harsh and unforgiving environment of a world that wants to kill you. This game is going to be an open, brutal sandbox with a focus on harsh combat and survival elements like hunger, thirst, random encounters, harsh weather/environments and scavenging and crafting your own weapons and equipment. What I am looking for in potential players
-High-effort players who are willing to both get into the intensity of the adventure, but also laugh at your misfortunes.
-The ability and intention to show up for the sessions at the agreed-upon time (8 pm GMT+1). The length of this campaign varies based on the players' enjoyment. This means you should be in it for the long haul, but of course, your real life should always take priority over this game. Please just let me know as far ahead as you can if something comes up. Finally, if you do not anticipate your schedule remaining open and/or flexible during the agreed-upon time, please do not sign up.
-You have a working headset microphone and the ability to use Discord for communication purposes, no webcams required.
-You possess a welcoming and positive attitude towards your DM and your fellow players.
-This will be a mature game with dark and sometimes sensitive topics, so this is an 18+ game, no minors
-You are willing to speak up and play your character, but take a backseat when necessary to allow your other players to shine. Also, be welcoming of my terribly voiced NPCs.

Hi, I'm Thatguy or just Guy for short. I've been a DM for 7 years now with multiple systems, but mostly with D&D 2014. I'm passionate about collaborative storytelling and all the beautiful chaos that comes with that, so I'm looking forward to the story we will share in the blasted sands of Athas together.
