Adventure Introduction

A ringed city flying high above the spire at the centre of the multiverse, this is Sigil, where every creature in existence rubs elbows or bloodies knuckles. Here, anything is possible: a devil could foster bunnies, an angel could rig an election, or an eldritch horror could work a 9-5. If one thing is true in a place like this, is that opportunity is endless for those with the skill to find it, claim it, keep it.

You've been making a living for yourself in one of the oldest professions in the cosmos. Taking! Some pick pocket, some delve dungeons, and you're getting pretty good at what you do, but you're waiting for your big break, and you may have just found it... in your own pocket?

You pull out a pristine white envelope, sealed with a golden wax symbol of a mechanical vault door. You attempt to break the seal, but instead, the letter pops open effortlessly. Inside you find a note addressed to you;

"Apologies for rifling through your pockets. Fortunately, I've left you an opportunity instead of bankruptcy. We have been watching you and we believe your skills can be put to great use! How would you like to do what you do best for the good guys? Meet me at the Ubiquitous Wayfarer tonight.
- M.R., handler for the Golden Vault"

As you finish reading, the parchment and the envelope it came in shimmer away in golden light, leaving behind the coin sized gold seal in your hand and a strange sense that you're going to need it soon.

You find your way to the doorstep of the infamous tavern: The Ubiquitous Wayfarer. As you cross the threshold, a quick scan of the room reveals, amongst the bizarre clientele, a small gathering of strangers, each holding the same wax seal you hold. At the head of the table, a simply dressed woman with warm brown skin, invites you to seat and buys you all a round.
